What are your impressions from the Worlds?

I have no impressions. To tell you the truth, it’s quite hard to surprise me. I’ve been in sports for many years, I’ve seen many things, but never before have I witnessed such absurdities and such a mess. But God sees everything.

I don’t think one man should be president of both the World and the European Federation. They should be separate. Our president, who rules everything, let himself go a little. Nobody respects him, there is no discipline, we are no longer one family like before. Sports should bind and build, and it was not so in this case. Everybody was running around, shouting at everybody else. And what’s worse – it was allowed to happen. I think Assen should choose whether to be the president of EAF or WAF, because this is just silly. We kneel once, and we’ll be getting up for a long time.

Are you happy with your scores? Was it difficult to get to the top of the podium? Which fight was the most demanding?

What can I say. I’m happy to be the champion of the world, but I don’t have the gold medal. It’s up to you to decide whether I’m the champion or not. I was three times better than my opponents. I haven’t even noticed when I got to the podium. Don’t get me wrong, the opponents were great. I won’t point any fingers, let everyone be motivated equally, so that everybody gets better.

Who surprised you the most?

Frankly, I was surprised with my friends who lost in a stupid way. I can also point out the young Bulgarian in the 75 kg weight category. Matyushenko was good too (first place in both arms), the Georgians were great in the heavy weights.

What are your future plans?

If things keep going in the way they went in Lithuania, I’ll go pro, at least you can get medals there.
