Last year the competition was attended by about a hundred athletes, this year we plan to meet around 150 participants, and this year we have added another age group - junior 18 years. We expect that thanks to this innovation we will see more young people in the tournament.

We invited several well-known sportsmen to participate in the cup, and they have already confirmed their participation. So, we will see the multiple world champion and holder of the world title belt among professionals Andrey Pushkar, also among the invited are Oleg Zhoh, Viktoria Ilyushina, Dmitry Beskorovainyi. Perhaps, Rustam Babayev will attend the event as a guest. He has already started preparing for Vendetta #50, so he probably will not pull. We hope that other stars of the Ukrainian armwrestling will respond to our invitation.

Lviv Open Cup received international status, so we invited athletes from Moldova, Bulgaria, Belarus, Poland, and we hope that representatives of these countries will come to us and make a worthy competition to our armwrestlers.

The highlight of the tournament this year will be, for example, the return to the awarding system to the fifth place. That is, athletes who will take 4 and 5 places, will also receive a cash prize. I hope that it will motivate sportsmen more to participate and will be another step in the development of the Ukrainian armwrestling. In such championships athletes’ level is often very different, and young armwrestlers don’t want to participate, because they do not see themselves among the winners. Therefore, the reward for 4 and 5 places is to the point.

This year we also added a new category for women - 60 kg. We would like to offer more women's categories, but thanks to the experience of previous years - when this category had not sufficient number of participants, we decided to leave only this class.
