This has been the biggest success in the history of the Polish National Team. 17 medals for Poland during this year’s European Championships in Bulgaria. The Polish athletes came back home with a total of 7 silver and 10 bronze medals. This is the score of our full 47 person team against the best European armwrestlers. Never before has our National Team performed that well. This performance placed us on the 4th place in the medal classification in front of the hosts of the competition the Bulgarian National Team. We were 3rd in the junior classification.

The success was possible thanks to the performance of our juniors (6 medals), seniors (4 medals), disabled (2 medals) as well as masters and grand masters (5 medals). Moreover several our athletes have finished the competition on pointed places. 

The Euro 2009 has hosted 465 athletes from 24 European countries. The first day (3rd of June) was the day of the left arm 14 junior, 6 disabled, 9 masters and 3 grand masters categories for both men and women. The next day was the day of the same categories but right handed. The next two days the senior’s categories were played (5th June – left hand, 6th right hand).

Poland has won a total of 17 European medals.
