We did not expect that, our chances were high, especially after knowing the start list and information about the absence of John Brzenk (back injury prevented him from fighting for left hand). From the very beginning a brick favorite was Lubomir Jagnesak from Slovakia, but there was a chance for the Poles to get on the podium. Dariusz Muszczak, the last year's silver medalist (last year was defeated only by John Brzenk) this time did not do very well. He had a chance to be in a close three, however, Dzambolat Tsoriev from Russia completely deprived him of this dream. The duel from the start was dictated by the Russian, he just had a way of stopping Darek's fast attacks and so it happened. Dariusz Muszczak placed on a good fifth position between 14 competitors.

The second of the Poles, in which crowds of supporters believed was Lucian Fudała (the winner of the Professionals' World Cup in 2008 of the left hand), but he was unable to cope with this year's extremely difficult competition and came in sixth.

The fact is that both of them were in a good shape, although rivals proved to be simply better. Drawing was of a great importance, our wrestlers have lost only with competitors from the first three, which proves that they are still among the strongest players in the world.

The last of our representatives Mariusz Grochowski did the least, he end up rivalry on the 9th place.

Today, we'll see more of our competitors in action, but whether they "forge" for yesterday?

We do not know, but we keep our fingers crossed for our competitors. In the end it is the Professionals' World Cup - there's no room for weak competitors!!
