On the 21st of February 2010 lots of Armwrestling fans may observe the well known armwrestler - Alexey Voevoda from Russia, who is in the Russian National Olympic Bobsleigh Team - Vancouver 2010. For today Alexey Voevoda and Alexsandr Zubkov will start as a bobsleigh two. His starts in fours is up in the air. It is dependent mainly on overweight of two others dispersing Russian bobsleighersand on who will finally represent Russia as the pilot of bobsleigh four. For today, the pilot of the team will not be Alexsandr Zubkov, but Evgeny Popov, who does not suit Alexey because he is less experienced.

Currently 29 years old Alexey Voevod weights 115 kg, whereas 35 years old Aleksandr Zubkov weights 105 kg. To start at bobsleigh two during this year’s Olympics the weight of the two competitors including clothes must not be larger than 220 kg. Alexey does not hide that he would prefer his colleague to weight 100 kg and he would be able to keep the weight of 115 kg. Because his strength is the most needed at the responsible section, which is run-up. Otherwise Voevoda will have to lose 2kg and  Zubkov 3 kg before the start.

For today “there is a fight for these indispensible kilograms coming”.

At two last trainings Alexey Voevoda showed the best result of the dispersing of the Russian crew, although as Alexey says himself, there are different problems and troubles connected with bobsleigh equipment, I ensure that I will go all out and I hope that downhill ride will be worth an olympic medal.

We would like to remind everyone that Alexey Voevoda is the owner of one Olympic medal from the 25th of 2006 at Winter Olympic Games – Torino 2006. Alexey Voevoda from Russia with his team (Aleksander Zubkow, Filip Jegorow, Aleksiej Seliwierstow) won the silver Olympic medal of bobsleigh four.

As a bit of gossip we may say that perhaps Alexey Voevoda will come back to Armwrestling. As his armwrestling trainer Kote Razmadze told us “this year there is a big chance for Alexey to come back to Armwrestling. He will try to persuade him to come to this year’s World Professional Cup - Nemiroff World Cup 2010. The wish of rivalry by the table appeared in his eyes at the moment when Alexey got from the organizers of the World Professional Cup the commemorative medal and diploma as a multiple winner of the tournament.
