How did it happen and when did you start practicing Armwrestling? Why this and not some other sports discipline?

I started training armwrestling seriously in 2005. Before that, at school, we have fought regularly. I have won over all my school-mates and decided that I should try myself in some kind of competition. In May 2005 in Bulgaria there was a National championship. I went there and reached the 3rd place among juniors. Since then, Armwrestling has been all my life!

How did you start? How did you learn to fight at the table? Who was your trainer?

The first man, that taught me how to fight more seriously, was Valery from the  town of Razgrad, Bulgaria. Because I am from Tutrakan, and Razgrad was the nearest town where people practiced Armwrestling. Later, I started to travel to Sofia and Gorna Oryahovica.

Did you train any other sport before? If so, did you have any success and does it help you now in armwrestling?

Before Armwrestling, I have played handball - I was very enthusiastic about it, but in the end, I’ve chose the COMBAT sport!

What win can you regard the greatest achievement? Why?

My biggest achievement until now, is my world Armwrestling. But the sweetest victory was when I became the European champion for the first time in 2009 in Sofia.

Many people I love, came to see me and the experience of becoming the champion before their very eyes was unique!

Which achievement cost you the most effort?

One gives most efforts to be always in condition. And that’s what I just want! I try permanently to upgrade, what I’ve achieved.

20110726161434_01.jpgHow many times per week do you exercise? Tell us a little how your training looks like?

I train almost every day. I take rest only if I decide that it’s really needed! I work out my training systems alone and I repeatedly change them!

Who is your sparring-partner?

I almost don’t have sparring partners. I rarely go to other cities to fight with more serious competitors. I train mainly with weights machines belts.

What is your best weapon in armwrestling?

I think my most powerful weapon in Armwrestling are solid workouts and my constant desire to win!

Is any of armwrestlers a model for you? Who is he and why?

I have no idols in the sport. I’d try to conquer all, considered as great champions!

How does your popularity look like, how are you recognizeable?

About the popularity in Armwrestling - in my little town everybody knows who I am, but unfortunately, in big cities it is not so. I think that to develop our sport, we need to invest in advertising!

Do you get any tangible benefits from the sport? Do you feel a full professional?

I feel a professional athlete, because I am a fitness instructor and I get all my money from the sport. However I hope things will improve in future, because there is more to be desired!

Do you feel better in the fight on left or right hand? Do you have any serious deficiencies in your hands?

I've always been strong for the right hand. I just approach the table and fight, and know, that this is the hand I can trust and with which I can win!

20110726161434_02.jpgLet’s now move to an armfight duel. What do you think of six-round duels? Is it a good form of competition, is there any difference in fighting, should you use a different tactic?

The ARMFIGHT system! I think this is a good way to get to know who is better from the two players!  During the first few rounds it is begun to know who is stronger, and next - who is the tougher!

Is this your first duel in armfight and did you prepare in any special way?

This is my second event according to the Armfight system. The first one I won 6:0. I train hard and hope to finish this fighty in the same way as the first one!

What do you think of your rival? Have you ever fought with him? Are you afraid of him? Have you already had established tactic for him? Are you afraid of his advantages? What kind of?

With this opponent I have fight at the European championships and I was quite a long struggle. I have won it with two fouls.

Why do audience should watch your fight?

I hope, when we meet now, I'll be in better condition and to prove, that I am the stronger competitor! I think anyone who is interested in Armwrestling must see this event, it’s going to be spectacular duel!
