MARATHON OF UNEQUAL CHANCES! >>>

MARATHON OF UNEQUAL CHANCES! # Armwrestling # Armpower.net

It was a marathon, even a super-marathon. Only that some of competitors run on the smooth road down and some uphill and others on the rocks. What’s more, some took taxis and one has been brought with strong arms in litter and placed with viva a few meters before the finish. ()

In a beautiful movie, produced in the age of USSR (The Soviet Union – explanation for juniors) on the Moscow backyard lived a trumpeter, who played, when the habitant met with misfortune. Here, at A1, was a trumpeter too, very muscular, and the repertoire choice – not accidental, glory to the organizers! What a history’s chuckle… not far from the library, proudly called Lenin’s, on the outer side of the Moscow river, there was a sound of Gershwin’s ‘Summertime’, very adequate in this situation. I think, it was prepared to praise and welcome sportsmen from the United States, who unfortunately stayed at homes. While the second from melodies, introducing to the fight atmosphere – Ivan’s Tizol (American Russian) ‘Caravan’, made famous by Duke Ellington, was according , and I’m sure of that, to representative of South Africa. Jazz, American Product, in its time, was banned in old Russia, and also perfectly known there, liked and performed well (take at least Leningrad DIXIELAND) – it suited perfectly as a symbol of the tournament which aspires to find best of the best in the world.

Before the tournament, saying honestly, I didn’t really understand complicated system of  games. After the first day, I convinced myself a little. Today I think that once a year, not more, it’s fine to watch that marathon with satisfaction, like something for real connoisseurs of the Armwrestling, in version ‘crazy hard’.

And it looked so:

OPEN CLASS RIGHT HAND
1. CYPLENKOV DENIS (RUSSIA)
2. PUSHKAR ANDREY (UKRAINE)
3. LILIEV ARSEN (ROSSIA)
4. TOKAREV SERGEY (UKRAINE)
5. ZOLOEV KHAZIMURAT (RUSSIA)
6. SEMERENKO ALEXEY (UKRAINE)
7. BABAYEV RUSTAM (UKRAINE)
8. SMIRNOF KONSTANTIN (BELARUOS)

You could hope for a moment that Szrek would come to the finals. He has reached a result one to zero in fight with Andrey Pushkar yet. He started fantastically, with side hit and Pushkar had much worse face than when I had asked him for an interview a few minutes before the fight (a long time ago, I don’t do this anymore). He-Andrey failed for the first time, in fact the first time in the whole tournament ‘somebody’ got him cornered.

Both from the FitMax Team, but there was no team it was a war!
And Denis was waiting, getting new surrenders from Tokarev…

Andrey shaked off, he did really scary face and tied one to one.

Third, decisive round came, which commentator Igor Mazurenko called little indulgently a ‘circus’, because Szrek has just gave his hand, contenting with a perspective of the fight for the third place.

And Denis was still waiting, getting new surrenders from Tokarev…

Szrek in a fight for the third place with relaxed after three loss rounds with Tokarev gave a roar of Ukrainian ‘Tiger’and… theatre came. Opponents throw magnesia lavishly, like there were planning to escape from the hall on the climbing wall. One to zero, two to zero, suddenly … Tokarev awakes, something is happening! But… nothing happened and the result three to zero for Szrek went into the world.

Relaxed Denis was still waiting for exhausted Andrey.

When he came by, in the first round won, after fracture, in strips – light. Second round of the final duel deserved the name The Evening Round. At first they split after long splitting, then, in strips… after hard battle, after changes of situation won Denis, but it didn’t came simply.

Pushkar had a face like a prime minister accepting the resignation of Minister of the Interior in result of detected corruption.

And Denis? And Denis had a ‘killed’ arm! After those two rounds he had red forearm! He was exhausted. But Pushkar was exhausted more!

What it would have been, if it had been drawn in other way? If other competitors forced Denis to work just a little? Would Andrey had the chances?

I think so!

At the end, after turning the table 45 degrees – Denis Cyplenkov won again.

Semerenko defeated Babayev, who had to find huge, last sources of energy to won penultimate (!)  place in fight with Smirnof, who had been defeated by Zoloev earlier.

Now – how does it look like? For the future, the case is not when Andrey will end his ‘black fortune’ (because he will end it up someday), but in when Szrek will be strong enough to conquer both – Denis and Andrey. When? Judging the speed of progress that he is doing, it will be this year autumn. Where? In Warsaw!

Did I wrote in the material preceding the Tournament that when we fight it off, nothing will be the same as earlier? I think so… Sorry, I had launched out a little.
