The first day of the XXI European Armwrestling Championships has ended. Despite the many organizational problems the rivalry itself passed without any major problems. As a bitof gosip, we can say that we had yesterday, only one protest during the entire eliminations. This means that the level of refereeing this year is really high.

Competition are conducted on 6 tables simultaneously. Two of the tables are tables for the disabled and the remaining 4 are occupied by juniors and mastersi. And in fact at all the 6 it was possible to watch the struggles of Polish competitors. Unfortunately, the fights of our countrymen could only be seen during the eliminations. None of our armwrestlers reached a medal place.

The best places near the podium were reached by: Marta Grabowska in over 60kg disabled class and Igor Mazurenko in + 100kg masters class. They both took the fourth place. In case of Igor it can be siad that he had the best chance for a medal place, but as he said himself - he made a mistake, changed his standard technique of fighting and yielded by enormous strength of the lateral pressure of the Turkish competitor. As it turned out later the Turek ranked 3rd in this weight class.

The other competitors unfortunately, fought off only fights commonly known as "two contracted fights", and dropped out of the left hand rivalry. The best of them, however, was Łukasz Głowacki in 60kg junior class, where he ranked 6th.

Today, the second day of the tournamnets is just before us - the right hand struggles. We hope that today at least one medal will be saved on Polish account, .
