- My return to sport is all thanks to my friend and promoter, Igor Mazurenko – says Roman Sedych. – He was my armwrestling engine, he pulled me through some tough times. After nine years I could fight again, enter the Lithuanian Worlds and win.

New season, new power. Many things await Roman, things he cannot pass by indifferently. He works hard to be prepared for the next competition. He has a new coach to help him with that.

- Andrey Antonov, my friend, colleague and a very experienced armwrestler is helping me prepare for the new season – says Roman. – Andrey used to be a great master in his time, he even beat the legendary John Brzenk. I’m still learning, he helps me train properly, using the newest scientific achievements instead of old Matveev and Zatsiorsky stuff, the oldschool. I’m going in a good direction.

Many think this year is a breakthrough in armwrestling. If until this year the sport has been going forward in steps, then in 2014 it has been making leaps.

- I’d like to point out that we had a great move forward in our sport – says Sedych. – It’s mainly all about the disabled sportspeople, who finally got their own federation. This is a huge step towards Paralympics. I think that RAA with Aleksander Filimonov and Igor Mazurenko is going to overcome any hurdle. The first disabled championships that took time in Poland this year, was a great example of the good work done by those men. It was a real celebration of strength and spirit!

Unfortunately, Roman could not enter those first championships, but next year he will not miss it!

- I have lots of plans, but I don’t want to talk about them right now – says Roman. I will work on myself and do what I love. I wish that to all fighters – always be on top!
