The first tests of the strength measuring device are over # Armwrestling # Armpower.net

This device will be very useful for creating training plans, to determine one’s weak points and know what to focus on. ()

We’ve already written about the creation of a device for measuring the strength potentials in many angles. A device that will help differently built fighters to learn about the changes in their progress and ways to control and steer it. That’s not all – the machine will also tell us how resilient our muscles are, how fast and strong.

The device is now in test phase. The first fighter to agree to undergo tests is Dawid Bartosiewicz.

The unique facet of this device is that it measures our strength in kilograms, depending on the type of gadgets that we use – says top Polish armwrestler, Dawid Bartosiewicz. – We can measure the strength of fingers, biceps or wrists. We can measure how consecutive exercise sets influence our stamina, check our maximum strength in a particular movement and many others. The device is a great help with devising exercise plans, helps us define our weak and strong points, so that we can know what to focus on. From week to week and month to month we can test how our progress is going along and see if we’re going in the right direction.

When testing the machine, Dawid wrestled spring-device.

The movement performed here is static, similar to a real fight situation – says Dawid. – The last test was for stamina, I tried to hold as long as I could with 70% of my strength. I could observe from set to set how my time of holding got shorter and shorter. Next time I’ll try to improve my score by at least a second. I think this machine is great at pushing us to excel in our scores; we can’t get this sort of feedback from sparring with a human. When this machine sees the light of day, it will become a necessity in the lives of all armwrestlers.

Igor Mazurenko also thinks that every armwrestling gym should have this device.

In the future we want to create a database of the strongest fighters; measuring their parameters in standardized conditions – says Mazurenko. – Why? – To be able to show beginners how much they need to curl for biceps, weighing 75 kg, to be able to fight with hook and become the national, European or World champion. People change in different ways when they train. The device will point out the mistakes they make and the things they do well, with precision up to a couple grams and fractions of a second in a month – 2 months timespan. This will create a new direction in the development of our sport.
