The beginning of each year is the summary of sports achievements of the previous year. In each part of the world different kinds of plebiscites for the sportsman of the year take place. That’s how it also was in the city of Rumia in Pomerania.
On the 23rd of January 2010 the results of the Contest for the Best Sportsman and Trainer of Rumia 2010 took place for the 16th time in a Spectacle and Sports Hall MOSiR in Rumia at 49 Mickiewicza Street. It’s a pleasure to inform you that a chapter honoured our leading armwrestler of masters class – Andrzej Głąbała from Rumia in the class of “the distinction for the special achievements of 2009”

Andrzej Głąbała is the 56 years old inhabitant of Rumia, the active competitor and at the same time the trainer of Złoty Tur Gdynia Student’s Club. He has been training Atmwrestling for over nine years. In 2009 Andrzej became the Champion of Poland of the Masters +90kg class of left and right hand for the 5th time. He turned to be unrivalled at the 9th Polish Championships which took place between 3rd and 5th of April 2009 in Żary. Thanks to those results Andrzej Głąbała was qualified to the National Team for the 19th European Championships – Bulgaria 2009 and 31st World Championships – Italy 2009.
In 2009 apart from numerous medal places at the local and regional tournaments the next success of Andrzej was winning four gold medals for the 4th time, and at the same time the title of the strongest master and grand master of Poland of 2009 for left and right hand of +90kg masters and masters Open class at the 10th Polish Cup - Starogard Gdański 2009 on the 27th and 28th of November 2009. The year 2009 was for Andrzej Głąbała also the year of trainer successes. The competitors of Złoty Tur Gdynia Student’s Club under his charge ranked very high at national and international field and at the Juniors and Seniors 10th Polish Cup - Starogard Gdański 2009 – they ranked 2nd in the team classification.
