The Poles before Nemiroff World Cup 2011
Marcin Skalski "showed up" in November 2010, at the 11th Polish Cup. He was called a "Revelation of the contest," when after a murderous, long final duel of the open left hand class he beat the silver medallist of the Professionals’ World Cup in 2009, and at the same time the defending champion of the left-hand Strongest Pole - Dariusz Muszczak from Myszkow. A new super heavyweight class champion! Experts have stated that Marcin is a young, forward-looking athlete. That’s right! His coach in Piaseczno is Marcin Lachowicz.
At the beginning of November 2010 Martin took part in the Sopot instalment of the Nemiroff World Cup. He took further places. Later, after the Polish Cup he rated his preparations saying that he was over trained.
Did he draw conclusions in the new season, what is his current form? About it, later.
Martin, how you spend time before the Cup?
Marcin Skalski: On Wednesday, 5th October, I am going to train, and then only slight moving, without overloading, rather walking, to inflate the body, and keep the developed endurance.
How do you feel?
Marcin Skalski: I am in good health, without injuries, certainly better than before this year's Polish Championships. I’ve improved my endurance, I have stronger wrists, it should be fine. I’ve drawn conclusions from last year's season. Then I trained really hard before a major takeoffs. Now I planed everything in a different way.
What will happen in your category?
Marcin Skalski: It will certainly be happening! Three favourites for the first three places are coming. However, in my opinion, five, six players can compete for the remaining ones. I would like to be one of them. I would also like to be qualified for the Open.
What are these tournaments, this World Cup?
Marcin Skalski: Oh! Here, everyone tries to show up! There are no weak competitors here, you cannot underestimate anyone! A start, especially for a debutant, what I experienced last year, is amazing, enemies’ class, binding, viewers make an impression,...
Do you have an exemplar, among the Champions?
Marcin Skalski: No one particular, I’m trying to get the best of the best in a given matter. I watch a lot of fights and examine what and how particular players are doing.
Who will suport you?
Marcin Skalski: From Piaseczno to Ozarow Mazowiecki is only 30 kilometres, so my colleagues are coming for sure, my family is also coming.
What do you do beside workouts?
Marcin Skalski: I work, I’m also trying to rekindle studies and I will do it!
What are your hobbies?
Marcin Skalski: Football, snooker, psychological films.
Marcin, we’re looking forward to your fights at the Cup!
Marcin Skalski: See you at the competitions
