Behind the scenes
# 7
It is often written in accounts that “a new superstar was born." In the materials after the NEMIROFF WORLD CUP 2011 such a “star” forecast may also be found. Most of them are based on the observation of the fight of a given player - a future star. Many of them may come true and let’s hope they will as in strengthens rivalry and makes it more attractive for our viewers. The more Stars, the better. Even better, if the "the Starts" are spread all over the world. Essentially it is best, if a player’s future can be bet on not only on the basis of victories, but also looking at him holistically, assessing the actual, substantive qualities that may make him a Star.
Such a potential star just appeared at this year's Professionals’ World Cup. A tall, heavy (ninety-nine kilograms), young (22 years old), endowed with long forearms and fingers. The limit of weight category is 95 kilograms. Travelling from Kazakhstan (you’ve already learned who I am writing about) I was easy to lose four kilograms and fit in the heavyweight limit. When he appeared in the weighing room and a tip unveiled 99kg - a simple question was asked - "Why do not you go to 95?". The player replied emphatically that he is interested only in super heavy weight and open class.
Let’s sum up: young, tall, good predisposition, natural weight, also ambition and willingness to severe challenges. I want to remind you that the same did Grzegorz Nowak when in 2009, in the age of 21, he stood on the podium of the Cup next to Denis Cyplenkov and Andrey Pushkar.
To lose weight!
The temptation of losing weight, which the described player succumbed to is quite recent in combat sports. From the juniors, from small regional events, to the most important competitions of the world. Most players cut the occasional corner, but there are also some who keep out of mischief. Real-time management of their body weight - brings immediate benefits, but in the long run certainly limits the development possibilities of the player. Certainly it is not beneficial for the body. That is why, looking at the competitor described (you already know exactly who I am describing) – I became convinced that he will surely become a Great Star of the World Armwrestling. Knowing that he is 22 years old, seeing his physical build, knowing that he relies on his natural weight and strength, dynamics and endurance connected with it - I'm sure that for many, many years, I will be describing the representative of Kazakhstan on the front-page of my accounts.
Igor Mazurenko had an opportunity to look closer at this player during last year's World Championships in Las Vegas. He knew his earlier achievements, headed by the title of Absolute Champion of Asia – which he won at the age of 16 years only.
Left hand
On the first day of the Cup (left hand) Dmitriy Trubin from Kazakhstan took fourth place in the 95 kg category. Ahead of him were: Travis Bagent (3), Andrey Pushkar (2.); Denis Cyplenkov (1.). Whereas in the open left hand he was sixth. Before him ranked: Artem Taynov (5), Lubomir Jagnesak (4), Rustam Babayev (3), Denis Cyplenkov (2), Andrey Pushkar (1).
In the struggles of +95 kg Dmitriy beat Andria Derevianenko (Ukraine), then Sergei Patrikeeva (Russia). He lost with Denis Cyplenkov. Another, the fourth fight with Viacheslav Karpov (Russia)he won. He finished his take off with a second defeat with Travis Bagentem.
Left hand Open was a defeat with Denis Cyplenkov in the first fight. Whereas in the second fight Dmitriy Trubin beat American Travis Bagent and dealt with the Rustam Babayev. Only Artem Taynov closed his way to the semi-finals.
Two medals on Saturday
Right hand +95 kg class begun for Dmitriy Trubina with a won fight with Ernst De Bruyn and a second success in winning with Marcin Skalski. Such a great start kept him going and he beat Jerry Cadorette. Only the fights with Denis and Andrey made him “gain” two defeats. As a result, an excellent place on lowest step of the World Cup podium.
Left Open was for Dmitriy Trubina won with Sergei Patrikeev and Modestas Grigaitis. Successively defeat with Andrey Pushkar and lost in the semi final with Denis. Another bronze medal that day. That’s a success for sure.
According to the trainer
Dmitriy Trubin’s trainer is Akhmed Aliev, who just after the contest told Igor Mazurenko: - "Next year I will prepare Dmitriy so well, that he will leave with the World Cup!" The trainer did not say if he meant just one Cup, or maybe both? Anyway, you can now get ready for fights with the participation of Dmitriy Trubina and his appearance at the NEMIROFF WORLD CUP 2012.
