Stoyan Golemanow (Bulgaria) and Todd “Toddzilla” Hutchings (the US) will meet in the first duel. Hardly anyone counts on the victory of the European player. Even Todd himself does not believe that he can lose the duel. At the World Professional’s Cup 2011, the only one to stop him was Arsen Liliev. Also Stoyan Golemanov is very optimistic. However this European player has not succeeded for a long time, since the World Championships in Tokyo in 2005. Then he moved from 85kg to 90kg. And since then all the difficulties have continued. This is the class in which Ruslam Babayev usually starts. Also Arsen Liliev, as well as some other players have fought is this class for a few years. In spite all this Stoyan Golemanow is always in the top five.
We are all really interested how would Todd Hutchings do at the World Amateurs’ Championships, but we won’t get to know as, Todd is a real professional.
In the second duel, weighing 102kg Arsen Liliev is going to be up against a living legend of the American Armwrestling – Richard Lupkes. At the times when Richard really succeeded, Arsen was not born yet. But today, a half younger Arsen challenges Richard and is almost 100% sure to win the duel. And though in the opinion of many cognoscenti of the sport he has almost no chance to win, Arsen’s form has really improved. In 2011, while Arnold Classic, Richard fought a tough duel with weighing 146kg, Denis Cyplenkov. With a strong move on to himself, Richard overcame Denis’s wrist and then with a side hit he managed to push his opponent’s hand to the side pad. Until now, almost no one managed to do that with an arm of the huge Russian.
In turn, Arsen, has never beaten Denis, and that’s why, in the experts’ opinion, Richard will be the one to win the duel.
The third duel of the evening can be called a real Vendetta – Jerry Cardotte came to the World Professionals’ Cup for the first time, and everyone bet on him as an unquestionable champion of the right hand. To everyone’s surprise, Jerry met Khadzimurat Zoloev in the class, just after the won fight witn Rustam Babayev. But Jerry lost. However today we will see a real rivalry, where there will be no accidental results. Will the 80kg heavy competitor win, as he did at the Profesionals’ World Cup? We’ll see!
Michael Todd will be lighting for the intercontinental champion title for the first time. We saw Michael for the last time in a Bulgarian city of Gorna Orichowica in 2007. Then, Michael fought with Alexey Voyevoda. However he did not managed to win any round. In 2009 Michael met Ion Oncescu. We all know the result of the duel- Michael Todd defeated the Romanian competitor 6-0 .
For the last 4 years Andrey Pushkar thrived at the World Championships. This time, Andrey came to Las Vegas to fight with Michael Todd for the intercontinental champion title and belt. Andrey will oppose with a fast side pressure to take Michael Todd the belt away. In order to do that, he put on weight. He has never been so heavy before. Will the increase of the weight be enough? It will be worth to see this fascinating duel on the Friday evening.
