“Arnold Sports Festival”, which took place on 1st-4th March 2012 in Columbus (Ohio, the USA) was a great event for all the competitors, fans, experts and entrepreneurs of the sports line of business. Including as well strongman as fencing or the newest varieties of fitness. It has also included armwrestling for some time. As well as the Poles!
Radek Staron came to Arnold Classic 2012 and ranked 3rd in the 80kg class. It was his first trip across the ocean and first confrontation with the American competitors.
The Americans began with the high ‘c’, for Cobra. Famous Andrew Rhodes was the first opponent of our player. The guy is 47 year old (forty seven!). Radek is a bit younger. He was learning to walk while Cobra was already learning armwrestling! What was going on? How was it going on? He did lost, but… The ‘but’ is the basis of certain (certain as they have already been talked over) plans.
Radek did not let to be ‘bitten’ and the fright began with the referees’ setting. Our player withstood Cobra’s fast attack and as he says – he almost won. However Cobra is Cobra! Radek did not wanted to become reconciled with the lost of the thumb and let go. Nevertheless (it sounds much different than when we write about football and our ‘high-flyers’) – Staron made an impression on all of the armwrestling experts. The Pole, unknown ‘there’, so in the USA – resisted to the player who is called with the Capital Letter! He did that!
The rest of the fights, according to Radek, were nothing special. He won what was to be won. Then…
Let’s let him say: -“On the second day the fight for entering the semi final ended quite fast, just as I planned. Unfortunately while fighting for entering the final I came across a player, taller and bigger than me. I had to reconcile myself to the third place – the great place!”
The third place. Guys! He was the third at Arnold Classic! And that’s not a ‘coincidence’!
There will be a Vendetta in June in the USA.
In June Radoslaw Staron (Poland) must be confronted with..? Who should fight with „the Pole, the one who withstood Cobra”?
For the ones betting on.
Cobra has the last chance. Not reproaching his age – if not now, then when?
Radek Has the first chance. He has got nothing to lose, and everything to gain.
Let’s wait for June 2012!
