On 27th-29th July 2012, in Moscow the A1 Russian OPEN Armwrestling Grand Prix will take place. The tournament has already excited everyone for many reasons. One of them is the formula of the rivalry. The “general trial” took place at the recent Russian Championships and it aroused controversy.
Today we have another information about the invited competitors. We have officially got to know that Rustam (the Older Brother) and Ruslan (the Younger Brother) Babajev will start in on class. What is more – Rustam intends (as he usually does) to play an important role in the most important, royal (best played) open class. What would it be!
Rustam does not often start at the table. As a professional he has only a few events a year in his calendar. The most important start for him used to be NEMIROFF WORLD CUP. Now, he added his participation in Moscow. What place can he win in 90kg class? The first one… probably yes.
The organizers must officially set up both Babayevs. There is no other way. As I like them both – I would like them to meet not earlier than in the final. But, as we all know, the table will show.
In the most exclusive phase of the A1 Russian OPEN Armwrestling Grand Prix – Rustam also has unquestionable chances. The way of conducting tournaments will be first of all promoting endurable competitors and those ones who are able to regenerate quickly. Whatever you think – Rustam is not going there “to learn”. Quite the contrary! He will be the one to “deal the cards” at the Moscow table.
The Older Brother is known by all of the Polish fans since 2001, as he dominated the Zloty Tur Cup. In 2002 and 2003 he won again. In 2006 the Younger Brother – Ruslan appeared on the world stage. At the World Cup in Poland, he beat Rustam, but (it can be revealed after all these years) Rustam simply threw a game. In 2008 Rustam entirely dominated his weight, whereas in open, he fought a matched duel with John Brzenk. Then in 2010 in Sopot the Younger Brother and the Older one fairly divided the medals of the left and right arms. Their duels were really “stagy” just like in case of boxers – Ukrainian Kliczko Brothers.
In 2011 the organizer of the NEMIROFF WORLD CUP suggested the brothers not to start in one class. So only the Older one took part. He went through his weigh like a rat up a rope and in the open class – to tell you the truth – he “played” Dennis, taking away all his strength before the final fight.
Now, in 2012 – the organizer of the A1 Russian OPEN Armwrestling Grand Prix invaded both RB brothers, and we, the fans, have already known the weekend in July will be hot, and as I have already announced, the tables in Moscow will be “flying”.
