We already have the photos of the medals which can be won at this year’s European Armwrestling Championships on our web page. So it can be said that we know what they are fighting for. Now we also publish the starts lists of particular age and weight classes. We have 5-6 days to mark put, predict and “bet on” scores. Juniors, masters, grand masters and disabled are starting on Wednesday (the 16th May) at 9.30 a.m. after a ceremonial opening of the tournaments. Their fights are going to last until Friday, the 17th May. Female and male seniors are going to approach the tables on Friday the 18th May and will be fighting unlit Saturday.
Eliminations of each class will be taking place at 9.00. Finals are going to start at 4.00 p.m. each time.

Let’s take a look at the starts lists.

Among female and male junior, disabled, masters men and women – the most numerous team are: Russia (68), Poland (41), Ukraine (39). In all above mentioned classes we have all together 315 participants of both sexes. Among senior men and women there are the most of  Russians (44), Poles (38) and Turks (33). The full list of senior men and women contains 335 names.

The tournaments in Gdansk are already record-breaking in terms of the line-up.  650 people from 23 countries.

There are classes, especially among disabled women, where there are 4 or even 3 competitors. Whereas among seniors we have about 8-13 competitors. Disabled men classes are strongly lined-up by about 10 players. We also have “lonely” grand masters, whereas in masters there are up to 10-15 players.

On the list of senior  +110 kg Andriy Pushkar id one of the 17 players which makes this class even “hotter”. But he is not the only one. Also Vladimir Karpov and Sergey Patrikeev applied for the “plus”. Ours Jan Żółciński i Marek Majak will have who to fight with! Mariusz Grochowski will have 18 rivals in -110 kg. So that it not too easy for him there are Ferit Osmanli and Genadi Kvikvinia among them. It’’ll be something!

It will be rough going in 100 our lonely Marcin Lachowicz. There are 27 rivals. Much less of them - 16 are in -90 kg. Our Artur Olbrys and Piotr Szczerba will meet with inter alia: Jan Germanus (which time is this for hum to fight in Tri-city?) If it is not enough, Ruslan Babayev is also a representative of this weight. The class which I dare to call it “historic”. Yhe older Babayev will be fighting with one of 24 people as  Natana Kajdas and Emil Wotyry in -85 kg class.

In 80 Piotr Bartosiewicz and Krzysztof Krajczynski will meet Oleksander Tsvyetkov and Khadzimurat Zoloev.

Among 26 players of the -75 kg class there will be Cvetan „Profesor” Gashevski – will it be exciting enough? It should be!

But it’s just a short glance at seniors’s applications for right arm. Fights seem to be “hot” – just in a few in Gdansk!

NOTE!
We would like to ask players, teams’ managers from all countries, to control published starts list up-to-date. If there are any mistakes, they can be corrected.
