Oleh Zhokh slipped out with Alexey Semerenko! But that’s not all! Not only did he slip out during the first match in the open class, called here „absolute”, but he also won a moment later when the fight went to straps! It was an elimination match. Then Oleh confronted Andrey Pushkar losing this time! I asked him how come he lost the match and his answer only proved that he’s got a great sense of humour as he told me that he was looking forward to locking his arm with Andrey in the final. But before that he fought against “Sem” in the semi-final. I don’t need to add that Adrey went through the eliminations undefeated. And finally Oleh and “Sem” appeared on the stage. The audience came closer. Yet no one was cheering on “Sem”, nor on Oleh as they were totally focused on the match. Semerenko, sweaty and tired, looked older that he’s really is. His forehead was dripping with sweat as he was throwing his opponent a fierce look.

Igor Mazurenko predicted that Alexey might lost the match.

”I can see it in his face whether he’ll win or lose. Now I’ve seen a failure in his face”. Igor knows “Sem” well, so it came as no surprise that he was right. Oleh won the fight sticking out his tongue with joy. That’s his “trademark” and Oleh’s future sponsors should notice that.

Now let’s do some simple sums. Alexey’s 114 kg minus Oleh’s 78 kg. Do you know the result yet?

And let’s also take into account Sem’s muscles and his rival’s frame. If Semerenko worked on his muscles he could participate in bodybuilding competitions. Oleh, on the other hand, could not do it.

Let’s take a look at their faces, too. On the one hand, we have an extremely exhausted man “without a neck”. And, his opponent, on the other hand, a teenager with a smile on his face. I know Oleh is not that young, but you can’t tell it looking at his face.

Incredible? Will it be a new star of the open class at next competitions? I bet he will.

Andrey Pushkar commented:

”This kid is growing up, if his weight increases, we might be in trouble…”

I asked Andrey if he took into account the fact that one day he might be beaten by this young competitor.

Pushkar just gave me a quick look and said nothing!

According to Igor Mazurenko there are several reasons behind this sensation.

The first one being that ”Sem” has not achieved top form yet. I’ve got some doubts about this one...

What’s more, Semerenko is not tough enough. Igor mentioned some of his previous matches when he lost because he wasn’t tough enough.

The third reason was that Oleh’s hand was so big that Alexey was not able to close his fingers around Sem’s palm.

I know you’re looking forward to a detailed account from the whole day, but believe me, this match eclipsed all the other fights and I needed to share with you my impressions. To cut the long story short, the open class was about Andrey’s domination with Oleh and “Sem” trying to catch him. The rest were far behind them. Lviv and Women

The competition is taking place in a new venue in the very centre of beautiful Lviv. Surrounded by wonderful tenements and lovely cafes, this year the place is even bigger and smarter than before. Not to mention lots of beautiful girls walking down the streets. It’s really worth visiting the city. The eliminations lasted almost three hours, some categories were quite packed with lots of champions taking part in the competition. All the people I interview highlighted the fact that the team was very strong. The atmosphere was getting more and more exciting during the matches.

The most interesting and exciting category was 95 kg class. A few fights have already earned the title of „The match of the evening”, although it was as early as 14.14.  

Number two in terms of exciting matches was 86 kg category.

You all are probably interested in the results of the „plus” class. I can only say that Semerenko lost once to Pushkar. Andrey was undefeated.

I was really impressed by the number of competitors and their attitude. They were ready to fight hard and win. Many of them openly admitted that they came to win. But only some of them will manage to make it.
