Laser therapy has found many uses in medicine, and has become one of the main methods of treatment for armwrestlers. Let me describe therapy of elbow injury.

Elbow injury is one of the most common injuries in armwrestling.

Laser therapy is most commonly used with tennis and golf elbow. The treatment usually takes onetwo series of six sessions, with five daysbreaks. The radiation period is 6 minutes and the frequency used is 10001500 Hz around the injured area, or attrigger points” – 200025000 Hz for one minute.

Another common elbow injury is closed damage of muscle-tendon unit. In case of strains, one series of 8-10 sessions, 6-8 minutes is used, at frequency of 10002000 Hz. In case of tears, frequency changes to 10001500 Hz, with the same amount of time and series. Both treatments are applied locally. A very similar treatment is used with tendon capsule inflammation, 7-9 sessions, 6-8 minutes. With acute inflammation, 10001500 Hz is applied, with chronic inflammation15002500 Hz.

Laser therapy is also used with twisted elbow joint. Therapy is performed locally, dosage is adequate to severity. In less severe cases 8 sessions are performed, 6-8 minutes, 15002500 Hz.

With moderately severe cases, 1 – 2 series of 8 sessions is performed, 6-8 minutes, 5 days breaks, 1500 – 2000 Hz. With very severe cases, 1 – 2 series are applied, 7 days break in between series, each series containing 8 session, 6-8 minutes, 1000 – 1500 Hz.

Laser therapy is also used for other joint injuries, for exampleacute shoulder pains. In this case, 2 series of 8 sessions are performed, with a weeks break. Therapy can be applied in two waysspinal C4 – Th4, or around the shoulder andtrigger points. The first takes 8 minutes with frequencies of 15002000 Hz. The second is one minute with frequencies of 20002500 Hz.

These injuries usually result from improper training and fighting techniques, and the therapies described are the most effective in treatment.
