Your favorite fighting technique?
I fight over the top, have been for almost 10 years now.
At the beginning of my “career” I’ve been fighting both over the top and the hook, but I almost instantly knew that “TOP ROLL” would be my best and strongest.
Favorite exercises?
Pronations on straps, with weights or on pulley – these are the basics for over the top guys.
Bar workout – one arm pullups, muscle ups – great for dynamics and strength.
Wrist exercises with dumbbells or special grips and regulated pulley – these are a must, the wrist must be stronger than the biceps!
Methods of regeneration?
As for regenerating before a tournament, I have my last sparring 6 days before a contest (and I train with 60% power then), my last gym workout 3 days before. During tournaments I warm up thoroughly and try to avoid “the pump” by winning fast.
How do you deal with injuries?
I’ve had no serious injuries aside from a twisted knee – this happened during a fight and had to be operated. But some micro injuries happen sometimes. The best way to heal injuries for me is lamp therapy. I also use cold compresses. I recommend supplements for joint protection, prophylactically.
