After about 30 hours of travel by various means of transport, including 9 hours in the last plane, after riding on one of the fastest trains on earth – the WAF officials and our reporters have finally arrived in Sendai, Japan. The impressions from the trip are incredible.
If anyone thinks that Japan looks like it’s shown in samurai movies or “Karate Kid” – they’ll be disappointed. Suburban houses don’t differ much from European architecture. Cities also look alike. The only real difference is … indecipherable writings and messages. That and the bamboo forest on the other side of the window.
We expected the championships to be high – level, and they are. Preparations were in motion since Tuesday. The stage, the background, the sound and light were ready on Wednesday. That was also the day when registration of contestants began.
As you might have noticed – we’re planning to broadcast all 3 days of the championships. We already have a test transmission running on our channel. You can watch us every day, morning till evening. Remember to consider the time zone difference – 7 hours in Poland, for example.
Tomorrow we begin with left and right hand at 12.00, all categories except seniors. Seniors will fight Friday and Saturday.
