Dave Chaffee, American armwrestler
The most important day of my life is the day I met my wife 8 years ago. I knew the first second I saw her, I wanted to meet her, and I knew shortly thereafter that I wanted to marry her. We have been through a lot together and four months ago we shared the most amazing moment of our life and that was the birth of our son, Dylan James Chaffee.
Patryk Weterle, disabled Polish armwrestler
The most important day of my life was when I’ve met my coach Artur and his wife, Anna. They’ve introduced me to the sport I love, the sport that has changed my life completely. People started to appreciate me as a man who takes no steps back, never gives up. Those who mocked me, started to respect me. But what’s most important – I’ve started ignoring my affliction, it stopped bothering me. I know I have people whom I can rely on. From a boy who used to escape into the virtual world a lot, I’ve turned into a man who’s found his way in life through armwrestling.
Robin Maria Chandler, American armwrestler
The most important day in my life… Well, I guess I would say the day I got to meet and arm wrestle the world champion Sarah Bäckman, she is a legend and my first European puller I have met. She was nothing like I thought she would be. To be honest I thought she would be this cocky young woman . But she was anything but - really just so nice, like a little sister. I got a big dose of reality that day ( got my butt kicked - lol). From that day on I have gotten very serious with my training . I have since met Žanna Čingule, she is so sweet I call her the Latvian arm wrestling Queen. My happiest day is yet to come, my only goal and dream in life is to put on that yellow shirt, step on stage in Poland and hear them call my name and do battle with the nicest and greatest women on the planet. The last few years I have been struggling with money but I'm in hopes to make it soon. I know you said this don't have to be about arm wrestling. But arm wrestling is my life, it’s all I think about 24/7. I have never loved anything so much . Being different as I am I wish at times I’ve never discovered the sport - my life would be so much easier . But you can't change who you are. I'm so honored Eglė Vaitkutė and Marlena Wawrzyniak and so many more great champions have invited me to come do battle with them. Win or lose, I'm a winner just to be accepted by so many great pullers.
