Dmitry Ionov, Ukrainian fighter

I had a few important moments in my life. I cannot recall the first day, even though it took place – my birth (for which I thank my parents).

The second one is the beginning of my sports journey. I started practicing karate when I was 6. That’s where I’ve learned what the word “discipline” means (laughs). Then a few things happened that could take 3rd place – graduating from university and getting a chance for a doctorate. The 4th place I give to my wins at tournaments, getting the title of Master of Sports for rowing, powerlifting and CCM. Are there any consequences? There must be. Every past day affects today and the future. Let’s not waste time on needless things, you have to be productive. My encounter with sports has affected my whole development, it made me who I am. It’s a great life, to constantly develop, mentally and physically!

Taras Ivakin, Ukrainian fighter

It’s hard to say. One of those events were the first national armwrestling championships of the Kharkov Army Academy. It was in 1995 and became a turning point in my private and sports life. All the other events in my life are somehow connected to armwrestling.

Igor Ivanitskyi, Ukrainian fighter

I think one of the key moments in my life was the Ukrainian championships in 2007, when I fought in the finals with Igor Konovalowy. We fought long and hard, with breaks, fouls and referee settings. The 110+ category finals were ending, and we were still fighting! It was a grueling ordeal, but I’ve won. For the first time I was the champion in seniors!
