The story of Vadim Aleshkin is worth attention, and it’s hero is worth respect. This guy does not accept reality, he creates it; he has astounding amounts of life energy, a great lust for life, positive attitude and determination.

Vadim was born 13th November 1990 in Perm. He graduated from the Czelabinsk University. He works as a teacher in the Center for Physical Culture. In 2003 he lost his right leg in an accident. This could have robbed him of any motivation, but it did the opposite.

Today Vadim is a world class armwrestler, a winner of European, Russian and world championships, and also a Russian and European athletics champ! He keeps on developing, despite his challenges.

Jerk – 85 kg, press – 105, deadlift – 200, full squat – 185, half-squat – 215 – those are Vadim’s scores in basic exercises with middle weights. Far jump – 7.02 m, 100 m run – 11.8 secs.

It’s worth noting that Vadim uses a prosthetic leg.

How much strength of will does one need to go on despite problems like Vadim’s? To overcome limits despite challenges?

While still at school, but after his accident, Vadim stood at the armwrestling table for the first time. His first and second competition brought him no victories. This made him look for new training methods and work even harder. Progress came soon, and medals and diplomas started flowing in.

My sports motto is faster, higher, stronger! – says Vadim. – I’m a goal-oriented guy. We only have one life, so it’s important to live it! After my time in a hospital I started appreciating life even more and found new meaning to it.
