To learn the history of the first table, we need to go back to the year 2001 and the organization of the II Zloty Tur in Gdynia. In Igor Mazurenko's opinion, back then the tables were the weak spot of armwrestling. Manufactured in Russia, they were good for nothing after one tournament. Just a few jerks and shakes from a heavyweight and legs fell off the tables.

- That's why we needed a real table to make everything perfect – says Mazurenko. - Manufacture was dealt with by a sports-manufacturing company, but their product wasn't very practical. It was a one-piece thing, with pads screwed in place, very hard to transport and set up at tournaments. It was also heavy, hard to sell, and production costs were very high. I've decided to look for a company that will not only make a new table, but also design it for armwrestling demands.

The choice was Metal s.c. What's interesting, this company made equipment for the Musical Theatre in Gdynia.

- The prototype was too thin and rickety, was too light and had sharp edges – recalls Jerzy Lasek from Metal s.c., designer. - With time we made improvements, Igor designed the dimensions, I made precise documentation. We tested pressures, thickness of bolts connecting elements, etc. It was a lot of trial and error, but we got it in the end.

Then came the testing phase. The table was jumped on and thrown around. An unplanned test took place when Soslan Kozaev threw the table at the judging panel at a tournament. The table hasn't even budged.

The table underwent various changes, also cosmetic ones, like the type of padding. Finally, detachable legs were made. The product was ready to sell and ship.

- This was an important moment, especially seeing as we presented the table at the 2002 WC's in Illinois, to be accepted as official WAF table. Our proposal beat the USA and Canadian ones almost unanimously – recalls Mazurenko.

Since thet the table has undergone various other small changes. This is how it looks nowadays:

How will it look in a few years?

- Suitable for practise and fighting, for both left and right arm (easy, boltless switching of all pads),
- Suitable for fighting in standing and seated position (disabled fighters),
- Made with precision, safe, resistant to huge pressures,
- Frame painted in color to order, legs made from steel profiles,
- Legs additionally wrapped in foam covering, to protect fighters. Covering secured from slipping,
- Stainless steel profiles can be supplied to order,
- Chromed steel hand grips,
- Stainless steel grips can be made to order,
- Table and pads padding made from durable PVC, to protect from bruising and abrasions,
- Standard padding in two colors (ex. black / red). Custom coloring can be ordered from available material colors, including national flag patterns,
- Custom graphic design can be made to order (club logo, sponsor logo, own picture),
- For easy transport table comes in parts (complete set contains: one table top, two side pads, two elbow pads, two hand grips complete with bolts, four legs, wrench),
- For added pad stability standard bolt is added under table,
- Table can be put together and dismantled using one imbus wrench,
- Table marked with Mazurenko Armwrestling Equipment quality plaque,
- Light (about 45 kg) and easy to transport,
- Table can be equipped with additional Mazurenko Armwrestling Promotion equipment - table attachment, automatic podium, legs for disabled, shorter legs for children, compatible with pulley machine.
