Armfight #45: whom should we see at the table? # Armwrestling # Armpower.net

Todd vs Trubin and Voevoda vs Bresnan. These four will definitely be at armfight #45.

()

During the January armfight in Las Vegas, armwrestling fans will be able to see 3 pairs of opponents, fighting in six-round bouts.

Michael Todd, who was supposed to wrestle Andrey Pushkar, will face Dima Trubin instead – the hero of the 15th Zloty Tur. Dima was put in Pushkar's place after Andrey suffered an elbow injury; but also because of his spectacular performance in Rumia.

After a long break in armfights, when Michael Todd became intercontinental champion after beating Pushkar in 2012, it is logical to organize a control fight before Todd vs Pushkar fight for world championship – says Igor Mazurenko. - It will be an interesting fight, as Trubin will try to take the title away from Todd. After this fight we will see who should face Pushkar for the world title.

The second pair of armfight#45 is Tim Bresnan, winner of armfight#43 and #44, versus Alexey Voevoda, who is making a grand return to armwrestling after years of absence, which he spent doing bobsleds.

Tim is a great opponent, but my goals is not to win, but to present a good style in various positions – says Voevoda. - At present my arm is adapted to try various techniques in various moments. I am pleasantly surprised with Tim's shape and I know he'll get even better before we meet. The fact that he'll fight on home ground should be of help too. I want the fight to last, to present various techniques.

Igor Mazurenko thought about Voevoda's return for a long time, especially since 2014.

I watched the live broadcast of Alexey's start in bobsleds at the Sotchi Olympics – recalls Mazurenko. After Alex won gold in twos, I understood that along with that medal, armwrestling will change too. His second gold in fours only made me more sure of that. I wanted to come back to the table Alex so bad – and now he is!

Voevoda's return was planned for TOP 16, but the project failed due to large costs and lack of sponsor.

This was to be a key moment and Voevoda's grand comeback – says Mazurenko. - Then we wanted the Vendetta with Bresnan, but his start was postponed due to a TV show that Alex is doing in Russia. There was a lot of controversy surrounding that decision, but it was due to work.

How will Bresnan vs Voevoda play out?

It is not my place to judge who'll win – says Mazurenko. - “The table will tell”, as we say in the business. We had a chance to measure Voevoda, but it's only a machine test. He did well in tests, but he will be facing a live man, after all. I am very curious myself.

Who will be the third pair at armfight #45? It's still a mystery. We will keep you informed.
