Bresnan’s win against Slaev was not a surprise to me. Bresnan was strong enough to control Slaev’s speed right from the beginning of the match. Bresnan is one of the toughest pullers in the World. His win against Voevoda and now a total domination against Slaev show that Bresnan in one of the best in the World for sure. Bresnan’s solid pronator and wrist allow him to start the match with a great advantage. Slaev is not in the same league with Bresnan. For sure he has a bright future but not yet there to mentioned amongst the very best superheavyweights.
Michael vs Denis happenned as i was expecting. Denis’s strength is above Michael’s but Michel’s endurance is better than Denis’. Also Michael is more experienced than Denis in the game that they played and that is why Denis in later rounds was not as effective as in the early rounds he was. Denis is not known as a technical puller, he is not fast either (Both start and transition). That is why he was not as effective as John Brzenk and Dmitry Trubin about finishing quality even though he is stronger than those two guys. I am so happy to see Denis Cyplenkov is back. Michael is a threat for anyone on this earth and Denis was one of the a few that could beat him. There are a few mistakes that Michael made and those also caused him to lose the Armfight. One is the mistake that he made while slipping and the other is the elbow foul that he got in the last round. The result could have been different if those two mistakes he did not make as he looked stronger than Denis after early rounds. I respect both athletes and wish them the best for their future events.
Pushkar vs Trubin was a surprise to me, esspecially after the Zloty event where Trubin was more effective against Pushkar. The difference from Zloty to this last event is probably Pushkar to underestimate Zloty event by thinking that it would have been easy for him. So he probably was planning his better preparation for the supermatch that he was gonna have against Michael Todd. The other reason that caused Pushkar to beat Trubin was that Pushkar did not try to control Trubin’s pronator as he tried at the Zloty event. Pushkar in his career did not have good wrist control as he often lost his wrist. But after Pushkar quitted WAF events we saw different Pushkar who was crushing everyone with a great hand-wrist control. So we all thought that he would do that against anyone until we saw him losing his wrist against Trubin. Dmitry Trubin is a guy that does not toproll with full hand control but with hammer strength. So i would not consider his wrist as his best weapon. Trubin often even drops his front wrist to unable his opponents to hook him. So the difference that Pushkar applied was Pushkar to hit from outside instead of trying to control Trubin’s pronator. It was outside vs outside but Pushkar added outer side pressure to his game plan. So it was Trubin’s wrist that was not strong enough to stop Pushkar’s pinning move. I have no doubt that Pushkar would have lost that Armfight if he would have tried to control Trubin’s pronator. I am guessing Trubin did not expect Pushkar to beat him with an outside pressure. Pushkar was clearly better than Trubin and he deserves to be ranked no1 in the world.
