Engin Terzi about John Brzenk
John Brzenk is the best ever armwrestler without any doubt. In my opinion he has done much more in armwrestling than any other Legend of other sport disciplines, did in his-her sport (Maybe with the exception of Muhammad Ali). Being the very best of his class and being the absolute best or one of the absolute best in 4 decades, is something to utmost respect. When you talk about John you don’t only talk about someone who is the strongest but also is the best in many aspect. With aging and injuries he became slower but in his younger years he was very explosive puller. He has pulled minutes long matches with succes that proved his great endurance as well. Many of the Legends have been able to pull in different techniques but being able to do this at the highest quality level is something that only John has done. I am 42 years old and have pulled for about 25 years but stil have not seen anyone close to John’s level. Watching John armwrestling is more fun than watching Messi playing football and I say this as someone who likes both armwrestling and football.
When I start to think the things that he has done I once again realise that he is not comparable with anyone else in this sport. A guy who had been ready to pull anyone almost anytime and in anywhere in the world with any format. I have said this many times before and no, I have not changed my mind about it, “John Brzenk is the Armwrestling”. Winning the most popular armwrestling event in the history (Over the Top), then winning Yukon Jacks that were the best Pro events of early 90s, winning countless WWC titles, winning Golden Bears in Russia, winning even WAF with his left arm, Harley Pulls, Vegas events, so many Nemiroff Titles in Poland, second best pro event of Europe Senec Hand, many super matches in PAL and Armwars, recently WAL events just made him the best ever without a close second place.
He beat almost all the best guys in last 30 years. I am sure i will miss many names that he has beaten but he has beaten guys like Gary Goodridge, Cleve Dean, Zaur Tskadadze, Ibragim Ibragimov, Richard Lupkes, Andrey Pushkar, Ferit Osmanli, Denis Cyplenkov, Olexey Semerenko, Taras Ivakin, Tim Bresnan, Matt Girdner, Michael Todd, Travis Bagent, Dave Chaffee, Marcio Barbosa, Devon Larratt, Yoshinobi Kanai, Ron Bath, Eric Woelfel, Erekle Gurchiani, Vaghtang Javahadze, Devid Tchelidze, Jerry Cadorette, Johnny Walker, Rustam Babayev, Zoloev Hadzimurat, David Randall and many other all time greats.
From my early career to today John Brzenk has always been someone who inspired me. I learned a lot only by watching him armwrestling. In every armwrestling school in the world his videos should be shown for esspecially youth to learn how to armwrestle correctly. In my book John is not only the best ever armwrestler but also a warrior!
Every tongue must confess that this man is the best ever armwrestler!
