Next article from our heading about sportsmen who made great contribution to our sport. Engin Terzi speaks about Sweden sportsmen Heidi Andersson.

Heidi Anderson is the female armwrestler that amazes me the most. If I would consider someone as the female version of John Brzenk then this would be Heidi. Not that she is the most succesful female armwrestler ever as Irına Makeeva and Egle Vaitkute probably have more World and European titles than Heidi has but Heidi’s succesful longevity in the sport, politeness, warrior spirit and abilities at the table make her the best female puller ever in my book.

Heidi is not only a Legend of Armwrestling with her titles and pulling skills but also with promoting our sport in her country Sweden. I know that she has taught the sport of armwrestling in schools for so many years. I believe that if our sport could make armwrestling into the Olympics or at least Sport Accord then she would make even greater things in her country.

Female pullers from Sweden unlike many other countries’ pullers have never been intimidated by the tough Russian opponents. For example Irına Makeeva most likely the strongest right and one of the best ever left arm ever in the history of our sport has been defeated by Heidi a few times in Irına’s best years. Heidi has many wars against other Russian, Ukranian and Kazakh pullers as well. Heidi to be at the top near 20 years while her best opponents have been changing is an amazing thing.

Unlike many other World Champions she has been a medalist in every competetion that I have seen her competing for so many years. Even when she wins World Title you don’t see her prideful but polite. She just trains, comes, wins and goes..That is how I have been seen her from outside view. She is almost a perfect example of a world level athlete. I really hope that someday our sport receives Olympic Recognition and people like her becomes our official represanter in the World Federastion Committee.

I don’t know if Heidi still planning to pull but no matter if she continues or not she has my utmost respect and the things that she has done even more than enough her to be recognised as a true Legend of our sport!
