Last year, the category of 78 kg was one of the most numerous at the Zloty Tur. Most likely, this year the tradition will continue. Who are the favorites have this weight?
At last Zloty Tur on the left hand in the 78 kg category Oleg Zhokh clearly dominated. But Ukrainian welterweight this year decided to move into the higher category, and so champion a place remains vacant. Who has a chance to take it?
The first candidate - Kazakh armwrestler Magzhan Shamiev. Last year Magzhan took second place. He even won Zhokha once and all – the audience and the athletes – were incredibly surprised. This year, Ahmed Aliyev, Kazakhstan's team captain, holds the Magzhan high expectations, so we may see him on the highest step of the podium.
But his last year opponent, Mantas Asmonas also confirmed his participation in the cup. At the last Zloty Tur Mantas pulled very well, and finished third on the left hand. And I think that now their fight with Magzhan will be the most exciting in the category.
But guys shouldn’t relax. Very close there is a young Latvian armrestler Vladislavs Krasovskis. At last Zloty Tur Vladislavs took only thirteenth place, but at this World Championship in his bank he’d 4th on left hand junior and 6th among adults. David Bartosiewicz was going to go into the category of 86 kg, but after his performance at the Cup of Poland he has decided to remain in 78 kg category. Bogdan Ivakhnenko shows good form lately, so we also can’t keep silent about him. Eduardo Tiete comes to Zloty Tur from Brazil.
As for the right hand, perhaps, the picture does not change too much. Last year, the prize-winning three were Mantas Asmonas, Shynbolat Raihanov and David Bartosiewicz. I dare to decide what this three may change because of the same Krasovskis with the first place in the junior world championships and Bogdan Ivakhnenko again.
This is only a rough estimate because accurate list of participants so far unknown. Everything can change abruptly. Therefore, we invite you to follow fights of these and other professionals at Zloty Tur Cup on armbets.tv 19 and 20 November!
