Andrei Pushkar: The main ideal in sport and in life for me is, of course, my father. When he brought me to workout in the gym, he was 50, and I was 11 years old. At age 58, my father became the 2nd at the World Armwrestling Championships in the Masters category +100 kg. He instilled in me a love for arm-wrestling and at difficult times I always remember how he confidently and calmly repeated: "My son is the strongest!" Unfortunately, he is no longer with us, but in my heart he is always close. I dedicate all my victories to him.
If we talk about the example of armwrestler, then this ideal for me is John Brzenk and this is not subject to any discussion. This person is the embodiment of all the positive aspects of our sport. At a weight of only 100 kg, John was the Absolute World Champion. His athletic longevity is striking - at the age of 50 he was still fighting with the top arm wrestlers of the world. He has been on the tops of world ratings for more than 30 years. Regardless of the opponent, John always shows a beautiful, exciting fight, combines different techniques in one duel. And, finally, the main thing: John Brzenk is a true gentleman at the table, he is always tolerant with the opponent, regardless of the result of the bout. A real “professor" of armwrestling!
