Nevertheless, the world arm-wrestling community knows very little about how Georgian athletes live at home, how the state supports sports and what, in fact, is the key to the success of the Georgian team at the world arena.
The film crew of ARMBETS NEWS decided to fill this gap in knowledge. We go to Georgia from July 26 to July 31 to feel the atmosphere of this country, to communicate with the stars of Georgian arm-wrestling at their homes, in the gym, on the streets of ancient Georgian cities.
We will visit Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia, where Genadi Kvikviniya and Levan Saginashvili live. We will also visit the hospitable city of Batumi on the Black Sea coast, where arm-wrestling tournaments are already held and where the most favorable atmosphere for holding major international sporting events is created.
In the 90s of the 20th century it was believed that there was a special Georgian school of arm-wrestling. We will try to find out whether this is so and if so, what are its features compared to the American or the European one.
Do not miss our reports from Georgia.
