On August 28, the 9th URPA 9th Shanghai Open took place in Shanghai. Due to restrictions related to COVID-19, only 100 athletes were able to take part in the tournament, although the number of applicants was much higher.

The tournament was organized by Tie Wan (Shanghai) Sports Ltd, which is a leading professional armwrestling player in South China.
Thanks to the enthusiasm and expertise of the founder and mastermind of the Shanghai Open tournaments Mr. Jonathan Lee and his team the tournament was held at a very high level and became another stage in strengthening the position of Chinese armwrestlers in the global Unified Ranking of Professional Armwrestling URPA.
