…sure of a victory beforehand. An interview with the gold medalist of IFA World Championships 2022. He's a member of the MCKiS TYTAN Jaworzno club. First, a reminder. Enjoy!

In May 2022, Artur got “only” silver with both arms at the European Championships in Rumia, Poland. The winner was Mindaugas Tarasaitis but he didn't come to France.

The senior men 78 kg category was packed with 22 competitors for the right arm competition and 24 for the left. That's why the gold is even more impressive!

SENIOR MEN RIGHT 78 KG
1. [01297] ARTUR KRUPA (POLAND)
2. [01105] DIMITRIS FILIKIDIS (GREECE)
3. [01322] COREY MILLER (UNITED STATES)

SENIOR MEN LEFT 78 KG
1. [01297] ARTUR KRUPA (POLAND)
2. [01347] JOHANNES ANDERSSON (SWEDEN)
3. [01394] CRAIG SANDERS (UNITED KINGDOM)

A few questions for Artur!

PeSzy: Are the medals from Dieppe your most precious ones?

Artur Krupa: Yes. World Championships medals are and will always be some of the most important to me and I hope I will more of them in the future events to come, too.

PeSzy: Is your victory in such a difficult competition filled with great armwrestlers a result of new, different preparations?

Artur Krupa: No. I always train the same no matter the event at hand. I mostly work on my weak points. I don't train to be better than others, I train to be better than myself.

PeSzy: Did you feel you would win?

Artur Krupa: I'm never certain of a victory. I always respect my rivals, this time there was a lot of them and they were mostly guys who had won world championships medals in the past. I watched my competitors carefully to be ready for anything.

PeSzy: Were you nervous?

Artur Krupa: I always am. Especially at events like this where the level is very high and one mistake can influence the end results. But in my case, the stress helps me focus, predict my opponent's movements and quickly come up with strategies at the table.

PeSzy: Artur, once again, congratulations and see you soon during the upcoming competitions.

Artur Krupa: Thanks for the interview, all the best to my close ones and people from our sport.
