Another Polish competitor of  XXXII World Armwrestling Championships, which took place on 06th - 12th December 2010 in the USA was the multiple medalist of the World and European Championships in the junior class, now a senior - Małgorzata Ostrowska from Strzegom. This time, Małgosia  returned to Strzegom without a medal. In the world competition in the 60kg senior class she took two eighth place (left, right hand).

How  was Malgosia preparing to compete in the world rivalry, why didn't she win a medal, and what does she think of the level of the World Championships? Answers to these and other questions you will find in the following, special interview for armpower.

Armpower: What do you think of this year's World Championships?
Małgorzata Ostrowska: World Championship in Las Vegas, and in fact Mesquito 2010 brought many surprises. Unbeaten so far Irina Makeeva to surprise of many people lost with Heidi Andersson, and such fights where the contenders for the gold were suddenly losing were much more. Regarding the organization, the event ran quite smoothly. Just a pity that the competitions did not take place in the heart of Las Vegas as it would be a lot more exciting.

Armpower: Was the level of the armwresters high?
Małgorzata Ostrowska: As I previously mentioned, there were many surprises, which indicates that the level of competitors is constantly increasing from year to year  and it is getting harder to win a good place.

But our competitors are developing well and I hope that soon someone will win the dreamt gold for Poland:)

Armpower: You are an old veteran and participant of numerous armwrestling championships of national and international rank. So why didn't you come back home with a world medal?
Małgorzata Ostrowska: Because rivals were simply better.

Armpower: On your account you already have world medals of the junior class. Is it much harder in senior classes?
Małgorzata Ostrowska: It's harder, but you must also take into account that juniors have far fewer responsibilities and more time for training than seniors.

Armpower: How you think, could you win a medal if you had approched the fights in a different way?
Małgorzata Ostrowska: It's possible. If I had used other supplements:) But is it worth???

Armpower: How were you preparing for the World Championships?
Małgorzata Ostrowska:  My preparation was as follows: three times a week weight training, 2 times a week, cardio training, 2 times a week sparring at the table.

Armpower: Any supplementation?
Małgorzata Ostrowska: Basic, so protein, amino acids, vitamins and minerals.

Armpower: You were supposed to compete in the 55kg senior class. Ultimately, you did not fit in weight and took off in up to 60kg class. Can you tell me what happened?
Małgorzata Ostrowska: Because I like sweets:)

Armpower: What's next - training or rest?
Małgorzata Ostrowska: Now I have to deal with stusied, because session is approaching, and for me it is a double one as I study two specializations simultaneously (physical education and accounting).

Armpower: Any New Years resolution?
Małgorzata Ostrowska: Think positively, and all goes well:)
