Senior Men 70 kg
The current champion on the left hand: Valentin Gospodinov (Bulgaria)
The current champion on the right hand: Khetag Dzitiev (Russia)
At the 2016 European Championships, Valentin Gospodinov showed a good level and became a champion left-handed. At the World Championships, Valentin became the third, after Khetag Dzitiev and Emil Amirshadyan. As we already know, this year Khetag has changed the weight category, so it is more likely that the fight for first place on the left hand will be developed between Valentin and Emil and taking into account the results of the Worlds, in our forecast we will give a slight advantage to the sportsman from Armenia. We also want to remind you that Daniel Procopciuk from Moldova will take part in this category, which from this year already fights in the senior category. Daniel will be the "dark horse" of this category, and we assume that he will surprise us all. On the right hand, the absence of Khetag will also affect the prize three. On the right hand we predict a good result from Tabriz Safarov from Azerbaijan and Emil Amirshadyan, but the clear leader and the main contender for the victory will be the Russian athlete Arthur Makarov.
Senior Men 75 kg
The current champion on the left hand: Vrezh Sedrakyan (Armenia)
The current champion on the right hand: David Samushia (Georgia)
In this category, Vrezh Sedrakyan will be the favorite on the left hand, this athlete is very strong. As we have already said, Khetag Dzitiev will now pull in this category, it will be interesting to see their struggle, given the styles of both. On the right hand the situation will be more complicated, the current champion David Samushia is clearly not going to give up his title to anyone, but the main rivals are likely to be Janis Amolins, Vrezh Sedrakyan, Khetag Dzitiev and Vladislav Krasovskis. We assume that David will be the champion.
Senior Men 80 kg
The current champion on the left hand: Atsamaz Urtaev (Russia)
The current champion on the right hand: Oguzhan Kocak (Turkey)
If Atsamaz will take part, then he and Zurab Tavberidze will be the main contenders for gold on the left hand. Zurab will pull in the category of up to 80 kg last time and for sure he will have a strong motivation to take gold, because he already several times was a step away from it. On the right hand, the current champion (Oguzhan Kocak) will not defend his title, as he moved to a heavier weight class. In this situation, we consider Zurab Tavberidze as the main contender for victory. I would also like to mention one athlete - Georgiy Tautiev from Russia, who showed an excellent fight at the national championship. If Georgiy will take part, he would also be classified among the favorites of this weight category.
