95kg silver medalist Rustam Babayev to beat current WAF heavyweight champion Genady Kvikvinia without much problems was a surprise to me. Genady did not have hard matches in super heavyweight class as he won against Grigaitis on fouls (first start was a few seconds), he won against Pushkar by not pulling and he lost against Trubin after a short pulling. The other match that he lost was against Pushkar and it was a quick one as well. The matches that he won were also short matches. Not to mention that Genady is known with his great endurance. 95kg Rustam Babayev to come back after 4,5 years of absence from such level event to beat the current superheavyweight WAF champion easily kind of shocked me.

  Genady received his second lost against 105kg winner Krasimir Kostadinov who had a very tough match against Nordmuns Tomsons from Latvia earlier on the qualification round of 105kg category. Krasimir hit a few times top in Genady but was not able top in Genady who got even more fired up once he brought Krasimir to the neutral position but Krasimir was not intimated and decided to wait and then a controlled drag pinning move instead of hitting to win. Krasimir to recover after such a tough match and beat Babayev after another was amazing as Babayev was much fresher than Krasimir. Babayev advanced with the start but once Krasimir controlled his hits Rustam’s endurance was not enough to win the match.

Krasimir to continue pulling and beating Gasparini was shocking but his gas finished once he finaly met Laletin on the semi final. In fact Krasimir easily beat Laletin twice in 105kg category.

Vitaly Laletin was another surprise in this class as he was the silver medalist of the 105kg but beat the Super’s champion Dmitry Trubin. But I must add that Trubin was damaged big time when he beat Pushkar after 2 very hard battles in the quarter final match. Pushkar toprolled him but something unexpected happenned and Trubin just defended with a dead wrist and he was almost winning in such position before Pushkar fouled. Second start Trubin toprolled Pushkar and won after a tough pull again. So Trubin was probably damaged after such pull but stil Laletin to beat Trubin was amazing.

Gasparini was also amazing with his performance in 95kg class by winning the first place over Rustam. In fact Rustam pinned him a few times but he was not able to keep his elbow on the pad when he hooked Ermes. Ermes to beat Trubin in the overall was another surprise to people.

4 out of top 5 guy in the overall to be none superheavyweight guys was probably a first time thing in the history of the Zloty Tur since many guys from categories have been allowed to compete overall event.
