On Saturday the 10th of July 2010 on a square by the new built gymnasium in Przyłęk the Lower Silesia Open Armwrestling Championships organized by the local Black Scorpion Przyłęk Students Sports Club with Marcin Zawada and Adrian Ferenc on vanguard and OSP in Przyłęk took place for the first time.

From the early morning competitors from the Polish leading clubs inter alia: Złoty Tur Gdynia, MCKiS Tytan Jaworzno, Armfight Piaseczno and many others, were gathering at the square near the gymnasium. There could not have missed competitors from the local Black Scorpion Przyłęk Club of course. Over 90 competitors applied for the championships therein Grzegorz Nowak (currently the strongest Pole for right hand). There were great awards to win, a lot of prize money in Open men and women classes. Competitors were starting only for right hand in following weight classes: Senior (70 kg, 78kg, 86kg, 95kg, +95 and Open), Junior ( 65kg, +65kg), women (Open), Junior women (Open), Children (up to 10 years, 11-13 years) and VIP.

I will start with children up to 11 years class, which was dominated by a competitor from the local club Jacek Stecyk who outrivaled his club mates Jakub Piskorski and Jan Stelmach.

In up to 13 years children class 3 competitors took part and fights were really stiff. Finally Przemek Alenkuć from Przyłęk won outrivaling Piotr Furtan (Przyłęk) and Sebastiana Wieczorek (Wrocław).

Junior 65kg class. In this class competitors of the Black Scorpion Przyłęk occupied first three places and they disillusioned other competitors and proved who was better at the tournaments. Grzegorz Kizikranked first after very stiff fights, second was Cyprian Załoga and Andrzej Stecyk occupied the last place on the podium.

Junior +65kg class. After over a year break Wojciech Szpringiel (Black Scorpion Przyłęk) returned to trainings and he managed to win the gold medal on the spot of the class however Daniel Zelek (Tytan Jaworzno) did not absolve local competitor. Not till the fight in belts Wojtek pushed his competitor to the side pad with the fast upwards attack. The third on the podium was a competitor from Jastrzębie Adrian Klapec.

Senior 70kg class. 17 compeitors applied for the class and their fights were more and more stiff. In this class the fight for the highest step of the podium waged between the competitors of the Black Scorpion Przyłęk and Titans form Jaworzno. Eventually the competitor from Silesia Damian Kotlarz got the upper hand by the fast upwards attack and overtook the competitors of the Black Scorpion - Arkadiusz Dochniak and Karol Bąba.

Senior 78kg class. It was one of the best stuffed weight classes at the tournaments. Rafał Woźny (Herakles Wałbrzych), who is in a great form recently, outclassed his rivals and ranked first of the class. After a very stiff semi-final with Kamil Krupa
(Titan Jaworzno) Dariusz Groch (Viking Nisko) ranked second.

Senior 86kg class. Paweł Gomola (Titan Jaworzno) did very well in the class, and after a stiff duel with his club mate Tomasz Szewczyk won the class.

Also Wiesław Rzanny (Traktor Wolsztyn), who finalny occupied the lowest step of the podium waged very stiff fights.

Senior 95kg class. For the following time Robert Leszko (Herakles Wałbrzych) was the best in the class and after very spectacular fights ranked first. Also the chairman of the Black Scorpion Przyłęk SSC Marcin Zawada started in the class and ranked second. The third was the competitor form Stare Miasto Dariusz Niciński.

Senior +95kg class. Such names as Grzegorz Nowak (the strongest Pole for right hand) from Gdynia, Marcin Lachowicz (Armfight Piaseczno) and Dariusz Muszczak (Titan Jaworzno) appeared in the class. Every armwrestling fan was surprised by the result as Grzegorz Nowak was beaten in the cup-final and final by Marcino Lachowicz, who was unrivalled at the tournaments. Dariusz Muszczak (Titan Jaworzno) the silver medalist of the Professionals’ World Cup2009 ranked third.

Women Open class. Here 5 competitors fought, therein the multiple Polish champion Małgorzata Ostrowska (Ostry Strzegom), who unexpectedly lost with the competitor from Bydgoszcz Joanna Damińska. Joanna outclassed her rivals and won the main prize money at the class. Joanna Hrabia (Herakles Wałbrzych) won the last place on the podium.

Men Open class. Almost all of the gathered fans and competitors waited for this class. 12 competitors foghting for prize money applied. Marcin Zawada, who finaly ranked 5th defended the hosts’ honor. For the next time Marcin Lachowicz beat Grzegorz Nowak and entered directly the cup-final. Grzegorz met Dariusz Muszczak in the semi-final. Unexpectedly Darek with the fast upwards attack beat Grzegorz, who got muscle attachment injure in elimination fights. Finally Grzegorz ranked 3rd at this prestige class. The cup-final between Dariusz Muszczak and Marcin Lachowicz was really exciting and kept in suspense till the end. For the second time in the tournament Dariusz had to recognize the superiority of his friend Marcin who was on a great form at the tournaments in Przyłęk.

One more VIP class took place. The ones who praticipeted were inter alia: Przyłęk village administrator Henryk Rożniatowski, a district councilor Wiesław Jabłoński. After very exciting final fight between Henryk Rożniatowski and Wiesław Jabłoński finally the winner was the Ząbkowiecki district councilor Wiesław Jabłoński. A fireman Sławomir Dziatłowicz ranked third.

As you see the sports level of the tournaments was extremely high and the appropriate music and great Adrian Ferenc’s commentary addend the event attraction.
