As a popularizer of armwrestling I often remind people that this is a very affordable sport. Many athletes spend crazy money on sports equipment from world’s brands. In fact, armwrestling workout gym can be equipped for a penny. There is no need in gold dumbbells developed by NASA experts, there is absolutely no need to use Kevlar ropes tested in Swiss laboratories. However, armwrestling has one equipment, saving on which is not only foolish, but often dangerous for the athletes’ health. This is an armwrestling table. During competitions and training, table is under a huge burden and each defect or gap in the structure can cause serious injury. In addition, a table for training and a table for competition should be identical.

I really do not recommend to make a table for armwrestling with your own hands out of scrap materials. I have devoted more than 15 years to creation and improvement of my table. I saw the bruises and injuries on the armwrestlers’ bodies caused by sharp corners of improvised tables, witnessed torn competitions due to the fact that the tables could not withstand the load. I studied deeply the physiology of the arm wrestling and I know what a burden falls on the joints, if the surface of the table is not soft enough. I specifically selected materials and worked on the design for the table met all requirements and was easy to transport. I created this table primarily for myself. Technical Notes

Pads should be constructed so that its edge does not have roundness downwards. It consists of two layers of special rubber. It is scientifically proven that the wrestling on asymmetric pads much safer than on parallel ones.

Touch-pads

Height: 10 cm

Width: 5 cm

They are constructed in such a way that they can be moved depending on wrestling hand. You can not screw Touch-pad to the table, they should be placed in the holes. Touch-pads are made of special rubber, which is very convenient and safe for the fight, as it prevents injuries arising from a strong impact on the Touch-pads.

Side surface of the table

Side surface of the table should be soft, not to hurt the athlete. It is made of rubber which doesn’t eventually loose elasticity.

Tabletop

The design is a plywood board covered with a special rubber, the edges of which are filled with soft elements. Outside board is covered by artificial leather which doesn’t wear off. Surface of the board should be divided into two parts, with a clearly visible line in the middle and central point - the elements necessary for the athletes’ start launch. Colors do not matter, contrast is important.

Handles

The handles are made of nickel-plated steel. You can not use rubber handles.

Table legs (rack)

Every arm wrestler knows how important table legs are. Even if you do not feel pain during the fight, afterwards you see what happens to the tibia bones when you abut the leg. Sharp edges cut even sports shoes.

Therefore, the table legs have to be covered with a special rubber which ensures that your foot will not slip.

Someone who has ever seen the table along with the athletes, understands the value of table’s correct attachment to the floor. In the lower, horizontal structural elements are holes for bolting to the floor. The platform is made of corrugated steel (size s100 x 200 cm). This is the most heavy element of the table.

Raiser

Athletes may want to use a special elevation. Raiser design has fast and stable connection to the table.
