Published word or on-line speed? # Armwrestling # Armpower.net

What’s better: to hold in hands and smell the fragrance of a fresh glossy or to see the lifeless but mobile screen? How do we want to receive “armpower”? ()

From its creation the armpower.net portal paved a lot of roads, overcame many obstacles. It reached a high level, got a big audience and is well-known in many countries today. But new times and new rules and priorities are coming. So here’s a question – should there be a printed version of armpower?

Today you can read the material on armpower.net in three languages: English, Polish and Russian. The site allows you to view high quality video. These are just a couple of advantages of armpower.net. Due to the existing capital of knowledge and capacity in the nearest future the portal will see significant changes. Many technical innovations will be introduced for achieving one goal - to make the portal as useful and interesting to visitors as possible.

On the pillar of armpower.net will be created a full-fledged platform of communication, for all who care about armwrestling.

Nonetheless, a question of the printed version remains. As shown by a questionnaire, a lot of users of the vk.com social network think that a printed version is not necessary. But their number is not significantly larger than of those who want to leaf a magazine’s pages.

In contemporary society it is not necessary to apply new creature comforts and forget about old ones. E. g. in subways we can see people pushing the buttons to leaf pages on electronic gadgets, but we can also see those who read books.

The situation is similar: one likes Internet for easy access, another likes to read offline.

The other side of the coin is the principle of electronic and printed sources. Internet means efficiency above all else. It is better to publish sensational news (or any other information that requires instant reaction from the reader) in electronic form, not on paper. Press resources require time to prepare, and are printed periodically. This doesn’t allow publishing current information, because it’s no longer news at the time of going to press, though it still keeps its relevance and novelty.

There is another variant for coexistence of online resources and printed magazines. Actual information could be published online and the paper version could be utilized for information not relevant to the given time (for example, information about the training of any sportsman). This option is most acceptable in today's reality. However, if you are trying to bring this project to life, you will certainly run into a serious problem – the lack of audience. It's no secret that arm wrestling is not the most popular sport. Therefore, the number of potential subscribers to the printed magazine is so low that the profits cannot fully cover all production costs.

Will the printed magazine armpower.net come to life ? For now we must be content with what we have and can further develop. Let’s not create costs, when the return would be too meagre.
