The Poles at FIBO 2011 # Armwrestling # Armpower.net

()

Last weekend (15-17 April 2011) in the German city of Essen another edition of FIBO sports fair, so the European largest trade fair with the participation of the leading nutrient companies, sports and recreation equipment and clothing manufacturers and many other related to sport and health.

Of course, there could not be missing a Polish accent at such a type of event. Apart from Polish exhibitors, three of our leading armwrestlers took off in the next edition of ArmWarls during the fair days. So we had the opportunity to see interesting fights with the participation of the Polish fighters: Mariusz Grochowski from Jaworzno, Tomasz Szewczyk from Tomaszów Mazowiecki, and Piotr Szczerba from Koniecpol, and the most interesting ones are placed on a DON Mazurenko blog.

But let's get back to fights of the Poles. In the first six-rounds duel for right hand fought Tomasz Szewczyk. His opponent was an American - Simon Beriachoa. The American, began his Armwrestling adventure with in the late 80s. Today, he is a representative of the American armwrestling of masters class. His every fights are exciting and worth seeing. And so it was this time. The more that Tomek treated this fight as a point of honor for his defeat in 2009 at the Arnold Classic (then Tomek lost a duel with Simon to enter the semifinals and finished the competition on the 4th place). We all know what an incredible form Tomek presented at the last Polish Championships in Nisko. So his chances to beat the American armwrestler were therefore 50:50. Striving forward, I can say that in this particular duel, Simon had an advantage in the proportions 65%: 35%.

Finally, in the six-round duel for the right hand of tactical skills of the American competitor made him achieve victory, and the duel ended with a score of 4:2 for the USA representative. Moreover, in a few duels only (as it was seen here) in addition to the strength and technical preparation also clear tactical preparation could have been seen. But let's try to  explain this tactical approach in two sentences.

First of all, at the very beginning Simon led with a score of 2:0. Fighting all the time in the hook he made his hand a bit tired and decided to give Tomek a possiblility to win two following fights. In the evident superiority of Simon, from the counteroffensive Tomek pulled his opponent's hand, tiring his own handat the same time. In the last two duels American armwrestler focused and did not give tired Tom any chances to win.

According to the fight of our next representative - Mariusz Grochowski from Ryan Clark from the USA, here we can clearly say - his fight was the obvious setting of the show on television. Mariusz from round to round played with his opponent, ending the rivalry for the right hand with a score of 6:0.

Similarly, was in the six-rounds duel for the right hand of our third representative - Piotr Szczerba with Meindert Nentjes from the Netherlands. Piotrek got in a duel even weaker opponent than Mariusz. It was simply a duel of "the elephant with an ant" where Piotrek as an elephant apparently surpassed his enemy in everything. As Piotrek said: "I was not satisfied with this duel. I would even prefer to lose, but to fight. My opponent just did not have any chances with me".

We remind you that the movies of the most interesting fights can be found on the DON Mazurenko blog.
