Maciej Jurczenia from Gdynia is a person who is unknown among our armwrestlrs. But for sure his name has secured its place in history of international tournament Złoty Tur Cup. In 2000, more precisely on the 20th of February 2000, with the coorganization of Maciej Jurczenia - the owner of the Tornado club at Kościuszki Square in Gdynia (today called Kapitan Cook) the first Złoty Tur Cup took place. Thanks to the help of that person we wr able to see the tournament that has secured its gold place in history of international Armwrestling.

 

Mr Jurcznia is so keen on our discipline that a few months later (May 2000) in his club another tournament – the Polish Cup took place for the first time, and then the 10th European Championships in June.

Yesterday (on the 7th of January 2010) on the day of the calendar anniversary of the organization of the 1st Złoty Tur Cup, Mr Jurczania was awarded with the memorial medal and diploma of Złoty Tur for the input and involvement in the development of Polish Armwrestling by Igor Mazurenko.

“Each time we meet, Maciej Jurczenia reminisces about those days and He is still well-disposed to our discipline. The medal and diploma are for sure too small thanks for the help ful hand at the beginning of the tournaments career in Poland. But at least in this way we could express our gratitude” – said Igor Mazurenko.

The red action of Armpaower also joins the thankfulness expression.
