Not long ago we have finished the annual plebiscite ”the Polish Sportsmen of the Year”. Among many talented Polish candidates 4 armwrestlers were qualified to the lead. But the pursuit for the title of the Best Sportsmen of 2009 was won by the best one. According to the votes of visitors of our page the one was Maciej Gralak. Congratulations!

Maciej Gralak is the 21 years old competitor of  Bydgoszcz Złoty Niedźwiedź Club and the National Team of disabled class. Daily he trains with his father - Stanisław Gralak (active competitor of masters class) in the adjacent gym in the town of Dąbie. He also spends many training hours with his trainer - Grzegorz Lasota (active competitor of seniors class). He is the Champion of Poland, and the vice Champion of Europe (Bulgaria 2009) and the owner of many other titles as well from previous years as from 2009.

“It is hard to say interchangeably made people vote for me. Perhaps they noticed my determination, stubbornness and will of fighting visible during the competitions. Maybe the dedication, thought character and en tire devotion to armwrestling?” – said Maciek during the telephone conversation.

“It is a great surprise and distinction. I did not expected such a suport among competitors and amwrestling fans. In 2009 there were many competitors who achieved high scores and deserved the title of the sportsmen of the year. Taking the opportunity I would like to thanks the ones who voted for me and decided that I was the one who deserved this honorable title. That is why I and really happy” – said Maciek.
