Tomasz Szewczyk (POL) vs Stefan Lengarov (BUL)
A duel lost by Tomasz Szewczyk makes everyone think and wonder how to make a best use of your training time. Generally speaking, I think Tom was forcefully well prepared or even very well. For a long time, however, he has one problem - his hands withstand only 1, 2 fights maximum. The same was this time in Bulgaria. Tom did not calculate his strength capabilities and instead of rather warm up fighting in belts he went the whole hog. He began to fight with an open hand, using 100% of his forces and energy supply. However I strike – as it was blindingly obvious in Bulgaria, that while training with Tom did not pay much attention to such a concept as a strength. As he Tomek said, workout written down by Rustam Babyaeva from Ukraine himself, resulted in the force. What unfortunately does not concern strength. This is a classic example, when we imitate someone literally.
This way of a career that Rustam went himself, not necessarily can be replicated by another player. In this case, for the development of endurance Tomek devoted too little time, or he did not perform the preparatory training properly.
In the first round, Stefan Lengarov fighting from the top was faster at the begining. It is true that Tom ran out of some side press, but it was not the cause of his defeat. The time of awaiting (approximately 20 seconds of the fight to the max), which he dedicated to win the duel, was deadly to him. While he was fighting in the 2nd and 3rd round it was clear that fatigue made its presence felt. And even the hand tied up in belts, unfortunately, had already refused to obey. Tom's hand was so hard, that in the final round had could not even hold his opponent's arm.
After the fight, I spent several hours with him, discussing what happened at the table and we came to only one conclusion: the style of training and fighting technique should be changed as soon as possible towards Tomek’s genetic conditions. Otherwise, in the future, Tomek’s fights may always look like as during the Vendetta in Bulgaria and it will be enough for an opponent to deftly nag Tom's hand.
