Poles before the Nemiroff World Cup 2011
A few athletes I'm especially waiting for! - says Marta Opalinska
Nineteen-year old girl, training in UKS Arm Fanatic Sports in Grudziadz announces to be in a good form at the NEMIROFF WORLD CUP 2011.
Marta is a multiple Polish champion, Polish Cup winner, medallist of international tournaments, European Junior Vice Champion. She won the silver medal at the European Championships in Bulgaria in 2009. Another international success came at the 32nd World Championships in Las Vegas, which took place in December 2010.Marta Opalinska became there twice world vice junior champion for right and left hand.
Since this year she began studying law.
She trains under the guidance of a trainer Marlena Wawrzyniak, who also – as you already know - will start at this year's Cup.
Ten days left to the start of the biggest armwrestling event in the world. How does Opalinska Marta feel?
How are your preparations for the Cup?
Marta Opalinska: At the moment quite well. Preparations proceeded without any problems. I’ve trained really hard and I think at Nemiroff it shouldn’t be bad.
How’s your health? Form?
Marta: Thank you, I can’t complain. For now, I feel good and I think that my form is quite stable. But how it will be in practice will soon turn out.
How do you spend these last days before the start?
Martha: Just a few more workouts and then rest.
Is it good or bad that you and Marlena are both taking off in the same class?
Marta: I don’t think of it as neither "good" nor "bad". At Nemiroff there is only one women class, so there is no other possibility. We do compete with others, our opponents, but certainly not with each other. She is my trainer.
Who will be the most dangerous competitor from abroad?
Marta: It's hard to tell who will come this year. I will fight with each and every opponent will be dangerous in a way. I do not underestimate anybody and I know that they all are really very good athletes. I must also admit that there are some I’d particularly want to fight with at the table :-)
What do you think of your chances at the World Cup?
Marta: It depends on many factors. I do not know who the competitors will be, how prepared will they be. Level of the World Cup is very high and it will be hard to win any of high places. Being a little lucky is essential. I will try to win the best possible place.
I’ve heard that you started studying, why did you chose law?
Marta: I'm interested in law. I wanted to be admitted to this faculty. I try to fulfil my sports and life dreams. I believe that I will manage to reconcile studies and sport.
I wish good luck, do not thank!
Marta: I invite all fans to NEMIROFF WORLD CUP.
