Chess gambit
Did they share cups? Is it just an impression? Intentionally? Did they conspire one for the left, the other for the right? After a cursory examination you can have such suspicions. But there were also many other factors on which both Denis and Andrey had no impact, ... Any way, you need to follow this two-handed drama.
Left
I do not want even the gold in the category! - said Andrey and staked everything on the open class. In the end what is more important, more prestigious ‘a Medal or a Cup’. Except Denis and Andrey there was no one in the +95kg category who might threaten them. No one.
Now pay attention! How amazing the whole Cup lay down, that two major rivals for the Cup in the open had no rivals in the heaviest class? Only the fights with lighter players in the open – caused them "some" trouble. Amazing thing, amazing opponents. Let's go back to the first day.
Take it if you want!
Pushkar surrendered in the final +95 to Denis. He was waiting for open.
Rustam Babayev "helped" his compatriot in the open, hardly hurt Denis. "A reserve player from the bench" was Artem Taynov (-78 kg) allowed to fight in this category due to the decision of the organizer. What would he be able to do? We were waiting.
We were also waiting for the fight of Travis and Denis, but it did not occur because Travis was losing successively with Artem Taynow whom he unfortunately disregarded because of the weight difference, and the player whose is worth attention - Dmiriy Trubin. A Prospective competitor, the weight slightly over 100 kg, long forearm. Travis who was to be bet on the podium as a result of these failures ranked 9th.
What happened next?
When Pushkar surrendered to Denisovi we were expecting a revange in the category. Were we right? Yes! Denis surrendered in open category eliminations. Interesting? As if they both assumed that the final battle should be booked for the cup-final.
My little point.
If heavyweight boxers agreed to go through eleven rounds on a basis of once you, once I - what would you say? As a result, as you’ve already known - Andrey Pushkar won the Cup on the left hand.
Let’s move to the right hand.
Chess gambit continuation
Again, in the +95 category Andrey agrees for the second place. He already has a Cup and now he all says - "I want two Cups." Igor asked directly whether he has enough space in the trunk? Andrey calmly says that it would be.
So once again, as an obsessive seeker I’ll ask whether the case was already foregone before the beginning of the open category? It looks like it was not ... Too many, factors had or could have had an impact on the course of the competition. After all both Zoloev and Babayev went on the stage along the way. That’s not all! Everyone was waiting for Arsen Liliev, who also had a great chance to mix in, to make the way to the Cup much more bumpy, at least to one of the heavy favorites. But the joy of winning in the weight told him to pound the table with his hand so bluntly, that medical treatment and rest are waiting for him. So he could not have take off in open.
Until the final duels both Pushkar and Denis went inviolably. There was no longer "help" for Denis in the form of hard crossing with Rustam. So we were waiting for the outcome of the matter only between those two. I do not know what would have happened if Rustam hadn’t met Zoloev in the first fight. I do not know what Liliev’s presence could have changed. Zoloev, exhausted after the fight with Rustam, was not able to violate Andrey Pushkar.
Anyway, Denis and Andrey reached the cup-final. As Denis surrendered to Andrey in eliminations he had repay. In the first fight Andrey was defeated and a long final fight, which decided of the final outcome, awaited us. Denis won! Thus, one cup for each rival.
Anyone who suspects anything in the sense of "set", "stacked", “scheduled”, “planned” - should know that the sport "writes" its own, best scenarios. And, analyzing them later - is quite a different matter.
