I have never been beyond the ocean, but I am going to Arnold Classic Armwrestling Challenge 2012, to fight with the American competitors. ()
Radosław Staroń from Ostroda is a leading, Polish player of the 78kg class. He has already have some spectacular wins, both on national and international area, including double silver medalist of the “Professionals’ World Cup - Nemiroff World Cup”.
The year 2012, especially the first half of it, is for Radek is full of challenges. At the beginning of March (1st-March) Radek decided to visit Columbus in the American state of Ohio to fight with the best armwrestlers of the U.S. at the “2012 Arnold Classic Armwrestling Challenge”, armwrestling tournament being a part of the famous sports fair “Arnold Sports Festival”.
“I’m planning to go to Arnold Classic 2012 and take off in 80kg class. Igor Mazurenko was trying to convince me to go there, and the sponsors made me finally decide to go. I’ve decided to try myself with the American competitors on right hand. It’s a pity that not on the left hand as my chances would be better. In fact I don’t know if I’d be able to make it as my right hand is injured as it was overtrained at the gym. But I’ll try to do everything I can. I have never fought with an American player and I hope that I’ll be able to fight at least a bit.
Now I am training with not too heavy weights, as I don’t want to make it worse. I train about 3 times a week, I do mainly on a speed training and development one. I am mostly focused on the right hand” – said Radosław Staron in a telephone conversation.
A basic question appears at ones: does Radek want to get revenge after lost at Nemiroff World Cup 2011 and who, from across the ocean, is he afraid of?
„That’s not a revenge at all, as there is no American player I could give revenge. I’m preparing a revenge for 2012!!!!!, where I’ll for sure take off at 78kg class for the last time. As it’s always third time lucky. Going to Arnold Classic, I’m not afraid of anyone in fact. As I’m just going there to fight. I’m only afraid of my hand that may not endure”
Just after his comeback Radek will have three weeks of regeneration and then next starts. This time on the national area “XII Polish Championships - Grudziądz 2012” which are also the eliminations to the Polish National Team for the “XXII European Championships”, that will take place on 13th-20th May 2012 in AWFiS hall in Gdańsk.
„The plan is to prepare for the Polish Championships, so that I’d be able to start at the European Championships in Poland!”
And that’s what we wish him
