On the 5th June in Starea Zagora the ceremony of drawing pairs for ARMFIGHT #41 is taking place. In case of a tournament for exactly 8 competitors, these will be quite serious “heat”. This will be a matter for experts to forecast results. The important matter. ()
What do we imagine the drawing to look like? What are we afraid of and what do we wish as fans?
- may two Americans not meet each other in the first round of the ladder. Or may be… nothing would happen then…
- may Arsen Liliev not meet Dmitriy Trubin… May better not…
- may the host have an “easy way” to the cup-final… For sure! Anyway there will not lack excitement for sure. And Krasimir Kostadinov, carried by support of his audience, will be able to beat anyone in the final (if he reaches it).Can you imagine a cup-final Brzenk vs Kostadinov? And a result of ex. 6:0? No matter for whom – yeah, that would be the cup-final...
I guess fans know least about two players, however only one of them is my title “mystery”. Terens Operman from far Africa is not too popular in NEMIROFF WORLD CUP 2011. But has anyone heard about a player called Igor Miroshnik, born and raised in Ukraine, now living and training in Poland who became famous (until now) for getting medal places at the Ukrainian Championships and with two gold medals in “a hundred” at the Polish Championships 2012? He is young. He is brave, mentally strong and won’t let himself to be led by the nose. I know that! He is also, due to his young age, really endure. He beat Lucjan Fudala on the left arm (and he is a substantial player). On the right arm, Igor tackled with Marcin Lachowicz. And Marcin? He was the 4th at this year’s, ended a few days ago, 22nd European Championships, where “ a hundred” was lined-up well.
Moreover the winner was… no one else but Krasimir Kostadinov! So, if Marcin was 4th, and Igor beat him we deduce that…
No! We only conclude that Igor Miroshnik is not a favourite from the point of view of fans, experts for sure. We know too little about him to bet.
But I’m not writing it to write what’s obvious.
I’ll try to justify why in case of a proper pair configuration, Miroshnik can get far.
Well, Igor Miroshnik has nothing to lose. Even if he doesn’t win any round, not talking of the whole duel, no one will tell him anything. But! If he wins at least one fight, or maybe two, it’ll mean that “unexpected changing of the guard” in 95kg class will take place.
Can you believe it? One fight won at the beginning can make this young sportsmen get a superhuman power and become dangerous for anyone!
What’s more Miroshnik’s been training in Poland, in Gdansk, Zloty Tur more precisely, and even more precisely under Igor Mazurenko’s eye for a few months. Do you know him? He is 2011 world champion and last year’s European vice-champion. I somehow “feel” that the time devoted for preparations and training techniques are for this young player.

Igor Miroshnik is the first name from the title double mystery. At last you don’t have to agree with me. Who is he title mystery? Who will be the second unknown for fans?
Who? John The Legend Brzenk! Why? – you’ll ask. We know everything about him. “Today” we know nothing at all. “The Legend” is coming back after an injury and a long, long break. Is he able to estimate his shape?
If we want it or not, the time’s passing. John’s already had a few gray hair. Will we see? We will see! The only thing I know, is that if John Brzenk wins the tournaments – it’ll mean the time stopped (or even put back). There will be again, a “King” form across the ocean, then long, long nothing, and the rest of players.
What will the drawing and the first fights bring us?
Whoever meets whoever in this exclusive starters – fans will be excited and get memories for long autumn evenings. What am I writing? Summer evening, until Moscow A1.
