This is an absolute breakthrough – in 2014 an apparatus will be made available to the market which will measure speed strength, speed of strength loss, maximum strength and endurance. ()
What came first – the chicken or the egg? This question was applied to the science of armwrestling.
What is more important – the wrist or the bicep? What is their relation? I hear this question a lot – says Igor Mazurenko.
These questions were hard to answer so far. This is about to change. Igor Mazurenko is preparing to write his PhD thesis, the effect of which will be the aforesaid apparatus.
The more I explore the calculations, the more questions arise – says Mazurenko. – for example – how much does one need to lift with wrist or bicep to be able to beat the top armwrestlers or advance to higher class? The apparatus I created is going to answer these questions by measuring our strengths (and weaknesses) and telling us how much we can take on at the moment, opponent wise.
The apparatus for measuring wrist and bicep strength is at the moment being constructed, and will be available in 2014, after being granted patent rights. It’s computer system will be fully compatible with Mazurenko tables. What exactly will it measure?
The strength potential of different arm angles and the possibility of applying various techniques – says Mazurenko. – It will make possible testing various strength factors of different parts of the arm and body. Strength speed, strength loss, maximum strength and endurance. The test subject will receive data that will make possible the correction of weak points at a whole new level.
First test results will be available in the first half of 2014. The tests will be run with participation of the world’s top armwrestlers, but also with casual test subjects, not connected to armwrestling.
We are creating the science of armwrestling, something you’ve never seen before – says Mazurenko.
