Modestas is one of those fighters who are always a surprise. Surprisingly good fights, surprising victories and resistance to top fighters. Modestas has fully earned his right to be in the TOP 16. Now he tells us about his vision of the project.

Not much is known about the TOP 16, but many people want to compete in it. Why do you think that is?

Everybody wants to fight the best in the world. I’m no exception, I want to face the top fighters too.

How do you visualize the TOP 16?

An armfight system – this is the best way to describe it.

Why do you want to be in the TOP 16?

I want to fight the best in the world, that’s why I agreed to enter.

Do you like risk?

I do, I hope to compete on top of the world soon.

What do you expect of TOP 16?

I want to prove myself against the best in the world. It is my dream.

If not TOP 16, then what?

Only the Nemiroff World Cup.

We have published the list of contestants for the TOP 16. Is anyone missing, in your opinion?

It would be great to see Michael Todd, John Brzenk, Richard Lupkes, Marcio Barbosa and Alan Karaev.

How do you see yourself among those fighters?

It’s hard to tell, but I guess somewhere in the middle.

There are a lot of rumors circulating about the TOP 16. What have you heard?

I’ve heard it’s going to be the best armwrestling tournament ever.

Is TOP 16 going to see the comeback of Alexey Voevoda? Is he good enough now to face the best in the world?

Not this year, I think. Maybe next season.

There are no weight categories in the TOP 16. Do you think that’s fair?

Yes it is – we want to choose the strongest armwrestler, after all.
